Well spot on. 😋. Thursday late lunch coming back from Oxford diverted through Brackley to see if we could get in.
A very friendly and warm welcome, an old cozy typical village pub.
We stopped as a special day treat and was well rewarded.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and checked on the details of a few food and drink questions. We had the home made vegetable soup and creamy garlic mushrooms. Mind you it was just a hint of garlic. Perfect.
For mains my partner had his sausage and mash he said was delicious. I had the steak pie with short crust pastry.
A most delicious meal and a very pleasant experience.
We tried to drop in on a Sunday several weeks ago, however you need to book. It was full. They do two sessions Sunday lunch and is a set roast dinner so you need to check.
The prices was very reasonable as well.
Amazing proper English pub, the publican is great for a yarn, it's small and cosy and they serve good beer. We parked up there as part of Brit Stops and loved it! Apparently the food is great too which we will definitely try next time!
Great pizzas, great staff, great place to unwind after a long day! Lucky to have this place as my local, will definitely be back regularly!
You wanna know what a good pub is like? This is it. Phil, the landlord is a gem and so is his wife who is also a great cook. The food is wonderful and very reasonably priced. The selection of beers and wines is superb. Don't take my word for it, go find out for yourself.
Stayed over for 1 night in motorhome and will definitely be calling again when passing through. Food very good and reasonably price. Lovely spot in bottom of field but just take it steady down the slope.
What a brilliant setup. We stopped 1 night with our campervan. Phil was excellent, and he explained everything very quickly over the phone.
We pulled up, picked our spot on the field, popped into the pub and booked in. The only charge is they ask that you have a drink in there, electric hook is chargeable and you have to pre-book, but we didn't need it.
We booked a table and ate a meal there also, lovely food. Atmosphere was amazing, we had a lovely walk through the fields and around.
Anyone with a campervan should visit these guys.
Thanks Mark and Lorraine.
We enjoyed a couple drinks and soaked up atmosphere outside with the locals. We had takeaway pizza which was the I’ve ever had and took it back to our self catering accommodation after a long day working at a show. Perfect 😍
What a great pub this is. 4 real ales, great home cooked food, free motorhome stop, Great landlord & landlady. We loved the pies & rack of ribs. We will definitely return!
A friendly, country pub. The meal's we had we're delious. You need to book. Thks to Liz. The toilets need a few hundred £ s spending on them. Or demolish and re build them. Would eat there again. Thank you.
