Wow, what a gem of a tea room this is. Such a beautiful and welcoming place. Lovely big car park, very clean and nice facilities and the afternoon tea is just delicious. This is my second visit and I just love it. The staff are the friendliest and kindest you will ever meet, nothing is ever too much trouble. Highly recommend this beaut.
Popped for morning coffee with a friend. First visit. It was very busy so we were glad we had booked a table in advance.
Cheese scone was lovely with cream cheese and chilli jam.
My friend said her tea cake was very nice too.
Lots of breakfast choices and cakes to choose from.
Staff welcoming and it's very clean everywhere.

Super light lunch, really healthy good quality and tasty food served beautifully. Much larger portions than we expected for the price. The most sparkling clean crockery and cutlery you could possibly come across! Very attractive environment altogether and so clean, the owners are to be congratulated on their high standards. real.
You really need to book, we turned up and there was no availability, but we got lucky as one table were just finishing up, so we're given that table and were told we would have to vacate by 2pm as the table was booked for then, that have us 2 hours so that was five by us, we were very lucky to get a table. Service was very good, food was lovely, but I thought the ploughman's lunch I had should have had more salad on it, it was only a very small side salad. My son and daughter both had huge jacket potatoes and both enjoyed them. Overall I would highly recommend this tea room. Just a shame they don't serve afternoon tea.

We were passing so stopped on the off chance for lunch. Obviously hadn't booked but was found a table. Lovely food, pleasant staff, will definitely return.
Lovely food, service, venue. Couldn't fault it and planning our next visit. Plenty of parking.
Had the ploughman's lunch, but everything looked amazing and the scones/cakes were very tempting for our next visit!

Wow, just wow.
We visited in the early afternoon for afternoon tea and it did not disappoint. From the moment we entered until we left the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The food was plentiful and delicious. The sandwiches were fresh and filling, our scones were mouthwatering and the cakes were heavenly. There was four of us having afternoon tea and we couldn't finish it all, that wasn't a problem we were given a takeaway box to enjoy the remaining cakes tonight.
Thank you to all the girls especially Emilee who served us. We will be back and highly recommend The old ram and hoggett.
We were a party of 6 adults and 3 children. The food was very nice , the cakes delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back.
Lovely tea rooms in a quiet little north Essex village. They have tables inside and out and I believe the building used to be a village pub a long time ago. The breakfasts are amazing and the home made cakes delicious.
