Excellent atmosphere, very welcoming staff and a lovely warm cosy pub. The food was amazing, I had the fish and chips (large) and they were the best I have ever tasted (I have had a lot of meals in my 53 years on planet earth). I will be back soon, just called over from Skipton to see my Mum and glad we called up. Thank you.
Delicious food at a reasonable price. Never had a bad experience, I would 100% recommend for anyone after some tasty grub & great service.
Joy and I just had a wonderful meal at the White Horse Inn with family friends, both myself and my 15 month old Joy have milk and soya allergies, the staff and chef were very accommodating �
Just advised to let them know if we’re coming again so they can do something even more special���

The staff and the food are very good. Staff are sociable, and very attentive. And the puddings are delicious. We will certainly be going again to dine there. It was my daughters Baby Shower we attended it made a lovely lunchtime treat. The prices are reasonable as well.

Booking highly advisable because it's that good and therefore really popular.
Also do small and large options in some meals which is a really nice option for those with smaller appetites. Good to see this as I think this is important especially for older customers who might choose not to go out due to worrying about wasting food.

Brilliant pub food, been twice now for rib eye steak, very tasty and great chips! Sunday lunch today, great pink beef, gorgeous roasties and yorkshires and proper gravy! Highly recommended �

Had a lovely meal and great atmosphere with very nice staff
One of the most delicious meals I've ever eaten, and the most generous and accommodating staff I have ever encountered!
After being caught out in the mini beast from the East, the staff called every taxi company they could think of, they then drove us back home and offered us somewhere to sleep (4 adults - one being my 86yr old grandmother)- just in case the 4x4 couldn't get us down the hill!
A huge thank you to the White Horse inn for the amazing food & drink. For going above and beyond! We're only sad we can't go back tomorrow to try out the rest of the menu because of the snow!
And special thanks to the landlord's wife (Kirsten) for risking her neck out on the roads for some Shropshire strangers!

The food seems to have increased in quality hugely over the last year. A previous comment mentions the use of frozen chips- definitely not the case now, as they serve some of the best chips I've ever eaten. Food is now very good value and the only gripe is the reasonably expensive wine list (the excellent selection of Taylor's beer more than makes up for that though!)
Excellent food. I visited the white horse when the new owners took over and wasn't overly impressed with the food however i must say its now clear to see the new owners have improved not only the look of the pub but the food has also massively improved. Infact it is so good i am taking all my staff on an evening out to the white horse so they too can enjoy the quality food and staff.
Loved it. I visited the white horse for the 2nd time on the 10/07/2010, the first time was when the new owners took over. i would just like to say the first time i went the food was not too good at all. then i heard they had a new chef so i decided to give it another try.
what a difference the food was beautiful i had lamb and it was cooked perfect, my husband had sea bass which he said was beauitful.
i think the review that was made by the( x chef) might be a little sour grapes
New Head Chef puts his mark on the White Horse. We visited the White Horse at Wellheads a few weeks ago & found the food to be average. However some friends suggested we give it another try as a new head chef had been appointed. We are so glad we did as on the 28 June 2010 we were very pleasantly suprised to find the food (& the service) excellent (my husband had the sea bass on crispy vegetables & said it was the best he had tasted in quite a while) Obviously the White Horse is back on the cullinary map & we most certainly will be back - thanks
Great food, fantastic specials, and a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff.
Food was hot and presented very well but 3 out of 4 of the table thought portion sizes could have had a spoon more food. The night we visited it was a quiet evening in between Christmas and the new year but at no point did we feel pushed out.
Words fail me! Five stars aren’t enough! Hayden and his crew are awesome. We were greeted as we walked in and although it was busy we were given a lovely table in a quiet area! The food was perfect and so was the service. Definitely a great place to eat - and incredible views across the area! 🤠👌👏
Always very good food to be had at the White Horse. Service was pretty good too. The interior is looking a little tired and could do with sprucing up. And I always say this about Taylors pubs. But they don't have any guest beers. And although Taylors beer is nice. It's a little bit play it safe for me. Finally, I'd be happy with the slightly expensive menu if they improved the decor.
INCREDIBLE FOOD!!!!…… The best roast beef dinner I have ever had. The beef was incredibly tender and full of flavour. ( Yorkshire puddings were delightfully light and crisp ) served with perfectly cooked vegetables and as for the roast potatoes oh boy!!!…… beautifully presented and served by very friendly staff. A LITTLE GEM OF A PUB FOR A DRINK & OUTSTANDING FOOD! We will definitely be back. Thank you!!

Brilliant food, good range of beer and lovely service. Great location too. I’m sure they will win lots of awards. We can’t stop ourselves from going back! The main menu is a good range of pub grub but the specials board is very special, that’s where the true gems are found.
Called in for Saturday tea, fabulous food, excellent range of food and drinks. Great service, attentive but not too much. Well worth a visit, great beer garden too,

Great country pub serving good food with some traditional firm favourites on the menu. Also, there is a good selection of ales and beers. Been here a few times and it's always good value.

Attended with colleagues for dinner, party of 6. Exceptional food. I had Lasagne, Garlic bread and chips. Lasagne is one of my fave foods and this place serves some of the best, I've tasted in my life. So filling, then topped off with a fruit crumble with ice cream and custard. Omdays was truly wonderful and everyone was overjoyed with their food choices. Staff were amazing and attentive. Nice pub, with a homely vibe. No pics of the food but managed to get the phone
out in time for the dessert. 😃
