Colatina Exit

Best pizza I’ve eaten anywhere in the state of Vermont in 4 years; well cooked and well priced. Fried calamari was cooked to perfection (but the sauce on the side was too oily and had too much separation with a less than amazing flavor). The Caesar salad was very fresh and put together nicely. Great Main St location, fair pricing, good and friendly service, nice amount of options on the menu for a pizza pasta restaurant. Will be back to try more of the menu soon.

I've never actually ordered food, besides pizza, from the Colatina until today. (I grew up close to the restaurant). Sadly that was a mistake. By far the worst, most under cooked steak, I've ever received from a restaurant. I used to be a chef myself, and I've traveled across four continents so far. Genuinely this was the worst steak I've gotten. Of course it was take out too. So I didn't even get to explain what was wrong with it. The presentation was decent, the worker knew how to sear a steak at least. They just didn't know how to cook it. As parts were still raw. Hopefully they can get some more practice in. All the side dishes were okay. Not spectacular, but not bad either. It can be tricky when one first starts out cooking steaks. As they can look done after searing them. However that doesn't not mean the inside was properly cooked. It's a mistake that gets made when people who aren't use to cooking steaks start out. Overall I'm not angry, mistakes happen, I'm just disappointed. For the price of the item and the lack of quality from such a restaurant.
