Dai Tree
A fine destination gastropub with low ceilings and a delightful riverside garden to the rear. A selection of keg beers on offer but nothing from the cask to keep the real ale drinkers happy (at least as far as I could see). Plenty of champagne to drink instead! Service is spot on and the place feels lived in and comfy. An enjoyable place to visit on a lazy summer afternoon.

We recently visited your restaurant to ring in the New Year and I have to say, we're thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere was great and the new year decorations were fantastic. The food was also very good and the dancing and music added an extra touch of excitement to the night. But the real standout was our waitress, Sue. She was incredibly friendly and had a great sense of humor. She really made the night special for us. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience and we will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you for such a memorable evening!

Nice Sunday roast, enjoyed in the outdoor space by the river on a sunny day.
As for the service, it was quite slow.

Went for dinner on Friday and absolutely loved the food and atmosphere. We had a burger and chips, perfectly cooked with very good quality meat. We also had the ribeye steak with bernaise sauce, which was so delicious and again high quality meat. It was such a big steak I couldn’t even finish it. Will be going back as soon as we can.

Great food and lovely location next to the canal. We were lucky with the weather and sat outside with a live dj and great atmosphere.

The Weir hosted my mother-in-law's belated 70th private birthday celebration in the conservatory area, which overlooked the garden area next to the water.
Here's what she had to say:
The room was lovely and bright, and nicely decorated with flowers and balloons, with a designated table for the buffet.
We were looked after well by Jackie, and had our own dedicated member of staff for the duration of the party, who soon got into the swing of things and looked after my guests' wishes...filling up the glasses, replenishing the food on the plates, taking away empty ones, so everything look neat and tidy.
Joanne also arranged for a little cheeseboard laid out after the dinner (at no extra cost to me), and I was allowed to bring my own Birthday cake at no extra cost.
There was some gentle background music, 'golden oldies', before the resident band arrived and played some really good songs - one of my guests hinted he might want to come back for a pint j ust to hear the band play!
Speaking to my friends and neighbours afterwards, they all had positive things to say. They said the food was delicious, that they enjoyed themselves and that it was a great venue.
Others said they had a really lovely evening and that it was a great atmosphere with nice ambience.
The pub's communication with me was professional throughout and I am very pleased with how well everything went.
Thank you!

Went in for Sunday Roast served by the lovely Sandra and Aiden who were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drinks .Sandra recommended the pork bellyand it did not disappoint. Meat was cooked perfectly and veg seasoned and prepared perfectly. Highly recommend the roast at the Weir. Been here a few times and it never disappoints. Previously had the beef roast which was also great. Now the drinks. Aiden was really helpful in finding the right cocktail for me. Great cocktails great prices great bar will be returning

I rate this Xmas lunch as one of the best I have ever eaten. Fantastic superb can only just describe the quality of the food. All three courses were great. Will recommend to anyone. Plus the service was excellent. Well worth the money.

The pub wasn’t busy but service was very slow at the bar, staff need a good kick, they don’t know what they are doing and couldn’t find what they wanted.
We ordered food and drinks in the garden they forgot the drinks until reminded and the food took longer.
Must say the food was good.

I didnt use to be a fan of the weir. But today totally changed my mind. I went to listen to jorge play music in the garden with my fiance,9 week old baby and my parents. Lovely garden and great waiting staff. As the server was clearing our table he saw my sons dummy and asked if i needed any hot water to clean it and then on our way out he opened up a side door for us so we didnt have to negotiate the steps in and back thru the pub. It was the added friendly touch that finished a lovely afternoon and makes me want to return. Lovely family pub.
Thank you

I recently celebrated my 30th birthday here and it was brilliant. I hired out a lovely area in the beer garden and enjoyed the day and evening and well into the night with 40 of my friends and family. The buffet food was excellent even catering for vegans. It was all very tasty and the quantity was great. The drinks were good quality and well priced. Some super cocktails on offer. The service was excellent. All the waiters and bar staff are very friendly and helpful. I couldn't have asked for a better venue.

Our first visit and we will return ! My husband said the oysters were amazing. We all had a Sunday lunch. The belly pork was to die for & amazing crackling, lovely fresh veg and a Yorkshire pudding. My daughter and husband had the apple & pear tarte tatin which was made to order and delicious. Cannot rate the food here highly enough, it was yummy.

Have been here many times - always pleased with the food and service, however today was really disappointing thanks to the moody and unhelpful waitress with attitude who ruined this dinner and visit for us
She needs a lesson in customer service because her attitude today will make me think twice about choosing to eat here again!

Lovely food, friendly staff, great entertainment options. The staff will make an effort to get to know locals & it has a very homely feel to it.

Food is fantastic and has a feeling of being home cooked
Pornstar martini by a jug is genius
Lunch offer is brilliant as you can choose between a starter and a dessert for free

Love this place. Addicted to the sharing steak with lobster... just unreal. Always got bubbles on ice and a new cocktail for me to enjoy. Staff very professional. love the garden, nice to have the heaters there so I can sneak out for a cigarette!

Never again. Was a loyal customer for around 3 years and today I was charged for a starter in a lunch set menu. They've changed it recently but nobody told me that only some starters/mains are qualifying for a deal. Congratulations, guys, you've got extra £6 from me but you won't get a penny more.
Yuriy Myronovych
I have been coming to this pub for 3 years and today was my last time. I got charged £23 for lunch because new manager decided to remove all discounts they used to have without even notifying customers. When I pointed that to him a whole scene was made that I am horrible and rude customer, extremely unpleasant experience.
