The fish and chips are always excellent when I've had a takeaway from here. Fish cooked usually to order and portion is generous. Chips I will usually end up sharing on a large, as again, it's usually generous. Currently only taking cash at the counter.

The portion size of chips used to be more generous, with chunkier cuts, and were fried fresh before being placed in the box. However, now they are mostly thin-dry and because of this changes they arrive half cold. Please consider going back to the original Chris Fish and Chips style.

This fish & chips shop is the best, I’ve never had fresh cod fresh chips anywhere else. But honestly this place is wonderful. I recommend everyone to go. Perfect.

Best in Brentwood in my opinion. I normally have the medium cod and it is good quality and more of a large size compared with everywhere else. Chips are a generous portion also. I really like the curry sauce, proper Chinese takeaway style. Happy to recommend Chris' to anyone.

Quite possibly the nicest fish and chips in Essex in my opinion!
I have been using Chris's for years and have never had a bad meal.
Tonight I had large cod and shared a large portion of chips with my Mrs who had a regular cod.
Both bits of fish were enormous and absolutely delicious, pure white flakey fresh tasting cod in a light crispy batter.
The chips were light and fluffy and equally delicious. It was not at all greasy just perfect fish and chips.
The staff are always pleasant and polite. Excellent experience. Well done.

Love the Jack Daniels ribs in here and have been coming here for years. Now I live away from Essex I always try to come here when visiting family. Only downfall being it’s opening hours. Shuts very early and means we have to go elsewhere which is never as good.

Nice and friendly service by one of the guys. The younger guy I first got served by was a bit moody.
First time I've been there and they recommended the ribs. The sauce was delicious and very generous. The rib meat was tasty and moist. Only thing I would say is if they allowed it to tenderise further it would have been perfect. A little bit chewy, but I'm very fussy.
Chips were decent and I would definitely go back.
