The Old Cottage

A table pre booked for 16 people. Everyone pre-ordered. Starters were stunningly refreshing (mine at least). Every main meal was served hot and well presented, and tasted delicious. The pudding was to die for. The staff were well dressed, curtious and willing to help. The whole experience made for A lovely and enjoyable evening. I will definitely be calling again. Thank you The cottage. A* well deserved.

We were sitting in the car looking for somewhere to eat dinner, everywhere was booked up, we are from Surrey so we didn’t know the Restaurant, we managed to get a last minute booking. We got a lovely surprise, from the outside it doesn’t look that big, it’s quite cosy with its flagstone floors and stonework yet quite openplan, The food was delicious, we had 3 courses and a couple of glasses of wine, The lamb rump with minted gravy was really lovely. I would definitely recommend this restaurant the service was excellent, staff were very friendly and helpful.

Went as a couple for Sunday dinner. The choice of food was a good average. The service was friendly efficient and welcoming. The quality of the food was excellent with very adequate proportions. Although it’s very local to me I hadn’t been here before. This is because it’s a town centre venue and you are at the mercy of car parks. The nearest one however is free for the first hour and is only a small step away. There is disabled access and the venue is clean and a tad charming. They have done a lot to offer a cottage ambience. Certainly would recommend.

Really like this place. Have been several times and I'm sure i will again. The food is always good, well presented and tasty. The deserts are worth a visit on there own. The staff are always plesant and friendly. The place is quaint and a nice relaxing ambience. I would recommend this place but the one thing i would say constructively is the portions sizes for the main course are slightly small for my overly large appetite.

I have eaten at the Old Cottage a number of times now first occasion over Christmas. Staff are always polite, welcoming and energetic. The service is good and always willing to meet your needs where possible. I have had numerous items of the menu and which are always served hot moist and mouth watering. Would recommend and have taken numerous friends for a great meal.
