My husband and I stopped for food, on the way home from a day out today and were both impressed. From the moment we walked through the door we and our dogs were made to feel welcome and valued as customers. The dogs had a complimentary cup of biscuits while we sipped our drinks and perused the menu. We picked a sharing platter and both being hungry also ordered a couple of sides, as it turned out the sides were completely unnecessary as the platter was more than ample. Not only did we need to slip the odd sausage under the table to the eager dogs but also had to ask for a doggy (er hum, husband) bag to take home. The food was delicious and the bill pleasantly surprising. The only disappointment was not having enough room to try a desert so we will defiantly have to go again. Thank you to all at The Pelican for topping off an amazing day.x

Lovely ambiance, friendly staff and excellent food with varied menu. We had seafood platter and Meze to share at lunch time. One would have been sufficient.

Called in on the way to an afternoon stroll on Ogmore beach. What a great choice! We both chose from the very reasonably-priced lunch-time menu that had plenty of options. The food was promptly served, piping hot and delicious. The service was excellent. We couldn't help overhearing a seemingly awkward customer complain about 'fishy-smelling' eggs! The waitress was really professional and ever so polite and accommodating, replacing the whole meal. We had no complaints, just praise, and will definitely return.

A great, atmospheric country pub in a superb location overlooking the historic Ogmore Castle and Stepping Stones. Very good food and very large portions - and not for a silly price.

Very cozy and nice restaurant with lovely staff, very close to Ogmore by Sea beach and in front of the ruins of Ogmore Castle. The food options that we had weren’t amazing for the price but maybe other options were better. I’d probably go back again and try. There’s seating outside so perfect for a sunny day!

Lovely place and beautiful location overlooking the countryside and close to Ogmore beach. Food was mostly very good, I would definitely recommend the bbq chicken and cow pie. The salmon tagliatelle would have been nice but a side of peas, broad beans and green beans mixed in meant there was too much going on and it was watery. If the chef did it as advertised it could be lovely. The service was quick and attentive to dietary needs. Altogether a great place to eat and I’d recommend it.

Had lunch and a drink, huge plate of nachos to share, then chicken curry with rice and chips for mains. Dog friendly with dog biscuits on the bar. Great service from a friendly team 👏

Nice dog friendly pub with plenty of outside seating. Beers were good and reasonably priced, food also was decent and not too badly priced. Staff were friendly, helpful and service was quick. Great location and worth a visit.

Reopened 7 weeks ago after changing hands, with a more expensive menu and no specials. Very disappointed as this was my favourite pub in the area. They are still dog friendly but you don't seem to be able to eat inside - the explanation by the waitress about a 'holding area' didn't make much sense. The food we ordered was home cooked and fresh, but still not quite as good as the food offered for a third less and few months ago, so overall lost a star for me.

Very good food and service, a bit pricey but worth it; good for a casual drink or smart events. Dog friendly in one half of the pub, good amount of tables indoors and out. Friendly and welcoming staff, would gladly go again!
