Forget the coffee at Prior John ( it comes a la machine!!) however if you wish to have a good English pub seaside experience with friends then opt for it. We enjoyed typical pub fare at better than reasonable prices. Service was quick & the food simple, but delicious. Partner ordered the steak & kidney pud which had a soft dumpling style crust with tasty chunky morsels of tender steak & plenty of kidney. I ordered a vegetarian noodle dish which had lots of fresh veges & soy beans so I was quite happy. Good English ale was available (if you like it!) I opted for a pleasant rose
Food we ate was brought out quickly and was excellent. Stood at empty bar a bit too long although 3 staff behind the bar.
Not much smiling from staff either. Great location and lovely outside section looking down on harbour.
Good experience with our meals and drinks overall. Very quick service but the server forgot the children's knife and fork, which took a while to get and I found the steak was very tough and chewy. Other meals were generous and well received. Would come again next time we're in town.
Edit: Second visit - similar to before, no children's cutlery when ordering a children's meal (comedy giant fork for toddlers!), other food was good except pizzas were a bit underdone and floppy. Prices we were charged seemed to be not the ones on the menu but we were undercharged more than over!
OK so good points, it's affordable, great quality food, kid friendly.
But oh my god its filthy on floor and tables. I have to say however this is more due to the enormous turn over of customers. The staff just wouldn't have the time.
The staff themselves were attentive, professional and presentable.
Had an issue which was mainly our fault. However Paul (the manager) was very understanding and dealt with the situation brilliantly. Top class customer service and a credit to the company.
Food was great too.
Thank you.
This pub is set in a fantastic location, not just for where its physically located but the building itself is superb. The food is the trusted and recognisable standard of the Whetherspoon pub chain, it was well prepared, served hot and very tasty, new menu options were a welcoming surprise that came to shake the "set" menu. The only negative for this chain in general, is please bring back the spicy coated prawns ... hahahaaaa
Service was very good, fast, accurate, the team was polite, attentive, well mannered and helpful.
The pub is very well decorated, well maintained and clean.
This is a very good option to eat / drink in if you are a local or when visiting us here in Bridlington. Definitely recommend.
The place itself looks nice from the outside and is in a great location. There is a wide selection of real ale on tap. It was very busy when we went with a 1 hour wait for food so just be mindful of that.
Served straight away food good staff alright
Happy 😊
Came here for the first time as we're away on holiday. Had to come here as nowhere else was open on a Monday night but food was fantastic, staff friendly and the price well it's weather spoons so best around. Would highly recommend this place. Five stars all round food was lovely.
Food was good considering the price but the tables were very dirty.
Went to the ladies loo, young bar staff member came out of stall went to leave, I had to say, you are going to wash your hands aren't you, her reply, I've been fixing the dispenser love, I said you still need to wash your hands to which she said I'm going in the cleaning cupboard now love. To which I said you still need to wash your hands and I'm not your love. She banged out the toilets. That's not acceptable on any level
