Best meal out in a very long time! The staff were lovely, and the food was stunning. I booked this a bit blind as we are not from the area. Which is a shame because we would definitely go there often if we lived closer. They even catered for the children and my daughter said it was the best fish and chips she has ever had....ever! I had chicken with wild mushroom risotto and it was delicious. The icing on the cake was that they had a real understanding of gluten intolerance and my husband who is coeliac could order with confidence that it was not going to make him ill. We would highly recommend this restaurant it is an absolute gem!!

Absolutely awesome restaurant. Pickled Ginger doesn't advertise as a gluten free eatery, but caters completely for the gf community. It was so reassuring to be able to order anything on the menu and know, that as a coeliac, I had nothing to worry about at all. The staff were brilliant and offered the kids off menu choices that were completely devoured. My wife and I had three courses that were all delicious and presented beautifully. I cannot praise this restaurant enough. Go there, you will most definitely not regret it!

We sat in the "Naughty Corner" for lunch and were suitably naughty choosing fish and chips, fish cakes and delicious desserts. I took my mother and we have both run hotels and restaurants so we are annoyingly critical. Nothing to complain about here though! Very pleasant ambiance and excellent service. Thank you.

Had a lovely birthday meal here. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and the chef even took out certain ingredients of a dish so that it was to my liking. I would definitely recommend this restaurant - top meal and ambience.

Highly recommended restaurant for those people who appreciate an exciting, but safe menu culminating in beautifully prepared and presented dishes. The couple running this restaurant, Chris & Heather deserve success for their hard work and enterprise in bringing us Pickled Ginger. Even the restaurant itself, which is below street level, is well furnished and modern creating a thoroughly nice experience.

Took my mum for her 60th. Had the most amazing food I've had in a long time. Nice atmosphere, great wine and superb food! The price is a little higher but with the quality of food you get, I will be coming back as many times as my wallet will allow. *5.

From the moment you walk through the door you get a friendly welcome. Beautifully decorated, fresh flowers which is always lovely, in the evening becomes very cosy as all the fairy lights are on and candles lit. Although down a few steps to the basement it's certainly worth a visit usually busy. We had lunch which was devine. Popped back early evening for a G&T as they now have an extensive range of gins some very local ones. Looking forward to having an evening meal there as again the menu looks lovely. All freshly prepared.

Dropped in for a family dinner and we had a most excellent meal. All the food was wonderfully cooked and presented, absolutely delicious. Service was relaxed but friendly. It's not a cheap place to eat but prices were very reasonable given the excellent quality of food. Definitely recommended.
