Well we have been 5 times now and each time it has been fantastic. The food is amazing and the choice outstanding. Hello to Jo who has been my favourite server of beloved meat so far (she is lovely, friendly and gives me the ends of joints if I ask nicely lol) shame I can’t put pics to this review but you’d only be jealous
What a FANTASTIC find!
Came here as we fancied a carvery and it had good reviews.
It is the best carvery I have ever had and I have tried a lot.
4 meats cooked perfectly and a whole host of veg including roast potatoes cooked in beef dripping.
The staff were lovely and welcoming, the pub was lovely inside, hygiene is rated 5 and the guy serving the meats was a legend.
Best of all they take the blue light card (emergency services discount).
Two carvery meals, a pint of enville ale and a pint of coke should’ve come to just over £21 (still a bargain) but came to just over £17.

Still my fave place to go for a family meal, my carvery was amazing as always, my boys had the gammon steak and mixed grill, and both enjoyed them at half the price, #halfpricemondays the staff are all lovely and I wouldn't reccommend anywhere else xx
Well what can I say my food was lovely red hot loads to choose from on the carvery very very good value. The girls were lovely couldn't do enough for us. Booked again for Monday. Thanks for lovely meal wishing you all a happy new yr in advance 🙂
We absolutely love it at The New Wellington, the carvery is amazing and always cooked to perfection plus really good value. We have visited quite a few times now since moving to the area and always get a friendly welcome and top service. We 100% recommend to all and will be back soon, many thanks.👍👍

Lovely place to eat, top notch quality food for very reasonable prices. Great sized carpark with plenty of spaces. Staff are friendly and welcoming.
Wide array of drinks available at the bar too. Absolutely love this place, definitely one of the best carverys I've ever had too!
The room and en suite were spotless. Plenty of towels and toiletries. Came down for the daily carvery and had a small problem with the very rude and unhelpful carver. The manageress sorted it instantly and gave us a full food refund. The carvery is served daily and has the best selection of beautifully cooked food I've ever seen. We mentioned how hot our room was and were given a fan which really helped. Enjoyed a few drinks and live entertainment in the bar. The buffet breakfast was superb with unlimited tea, coffee and juice. Big mugs for the hot drinks and orange juice served by the pint! The staff were wonderful. I only wish the location was prettier but we didn't pay 5 star prices.
We had just moved into our new house. No furniture, no trays, no food, but found this place was still delivering during the first week of Covid-19. That made moving into a new house so less stressful with being able to provide us with a fantastic veggie and meat Carvery. I wouldn’t believe the size of the portions. Extremely large and the quality and taste of the food was amazing. The meat was beautifully cooked and the vegetables were perfect. Would always recommended. The delivery service was rapid quick to note as well. The price was very reasonable for the size of the portions.

Always yummy food here, great value for money.
With the new table service rules, service is slower than normal, and it is difficult to communicate with the staff in the lively environment with masks on. As a result, out order was wrong twice, which caused confusion when we tried to get out food at the carvery bar. But it was quickly rectified both times.
We arrived at the New Wellington yesterday evening for a stay in their B&B, which had unfortunately been closed for three weeks due to water damage. We were given drinks and the staff were absolutely exceptional, calling round other hotels and B&Bs to find us a new place to stay. They must have tried 25-30 places but eventually found us a couple of rooms in another hotel. They even offered us back for their breakfast buffet in the morning. A tremendous place with the most helpful and compassionate staff. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a delightful pint and some food!
Went there with family and found it to be very nice with friendly and pleasant staff only one criticism that unlike other food places they used one set of knives for carving all the different meats. But saying that when asked to use a different set of knives they did use a fresh set of knives. Which was very good of them I hope they will continue to use different coloured knives for each of the meats as not all people eat pork. Or want the cross contamination of foods. But because they reacted politely and dealt with our request they deserve a 10/10. Would and will be retuning to this venue again all staff were polite and friendly.and well turned out especially on the way your welcomed on entry. Wonderful food Great service Great Staff.. GO THERE
We've enjoyed a good number of take away carverys over the lockdown period from the New Wellington. Great food, great value. Get your order in early on busy days to save disappointment because on some occasions items have sold out but we have always been really pleased with all we have had and alternatives have always been offered.
Due to some kind of booking error (not the fault of the owners) we never received a cancellation for our bnb stay here. The staff were understanding and helpful, they assisted us in getting us booked into a nearby hotel (we don't know the area) and offered us to still come back for the breakfast buffet in the morning for our troubles
Breakfast buffet was a good start to the next day and once again thank you to the staff
