We all had carvery which was delicious as always. But one word for you Frosè!! They are so nice! The staff are lovely there and never have any major problems. I do think sometimes from the pizza/burger point of view there seems to be issues with how long you have to wait. But I'm never in a rush so I do expect to have to wait a while but the food is always good.
Breakfast with Santa, lovely breakfast, staff were amazing couldn't do enough for the kiddies. Food was fab and so was the service defiantly recommend xxx
Came here Sunday as a group of 7. 4 adults and 3 children. Had a lovely afternoon. The best carvery I've had in a long time! The meat was amazing and a great selection of veg and potatoes. Even had fresh crackling which was delicious!
Everything was fresh and the gravy was tasty and thick!
The kids meals were a good size, and again, a good selection to chose from.
My husband had the carvery calzone and said it was great.
Service was good and also had a good variety of drinks on offer.
Price was very reasonable too.
Can't fault any part of it.
Overall a brilliant pub and we will be returning soon!
Me and my father arrived this evening at the Round Oak,greeted at the door with a friendly smile and shown to an available table. Once we had browsed the menu, we went to the bar and was welcomed by Keisha who was most polite, was also very helpful and went above and beyond and helped us with queries with no issues whatsoever. First class service!! More staff like Keisha would be appreciated as it makes the environment in the carvery a very relaxing and enjoyable one to be in. Will definitely be back again soon! Well done Keisha, honestly keep being you, and keep smiling and you will make the experience always a very enjoyable one.
8 of us went tonight (8th Aug) to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food was perfect and we received such good service from all staff. They were wonderful and I can't thank them enough.
Not so busy this time. Always enjoy the carvery.
Always rammed when i come here but can't beat a good carvery. Get the tickets and straight up for food always seem to avoid the rush too much
Great experience today, Danielle ensured we had exceptional meals all around and constantly asked us if everything was ok.
Table of 8 everything went smoothly and food was to our satisfaction.
I would definitely return.
Eaten here before a while ago, and since then had two takeaways. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Takeaway is decent. The only tip I would give is if you order online, they chuck a bit of everything on, they’re not stingy but if you’re fussy with your veg like me, it’s worth going in and queuing for your takeaway box so you can have it how you want. Overall, can’t beat a carvery from here
My family of 8 visited on a very busy Monday night. The two ladies could not have been nicer or more accommodating. All of our food was absolutely divine. Amazing value for money, we will make it a regular! Thank you very much
I’ve just had a fantastic carvery at this pub. The beef and turkey were cooked to perfection; mind you timed it perfect as they had just brought a fresh joint of beef and a whole turkey to the serving point. Lovely pint of Stella and served by smiley happy staff which were Nick and Di. My nephew was also happy because of the free WiFi to keep him amused on his phone after lunch.
Had fish yesterday, bit burnt and the place wasn’t very busy. Please don’t serve burnt food it puts you off before you eat it.
Very busy place. So if you're going as a family or as a couple. Phone and book first, or phone before you go so you know the situation before you get there. But I think this depends on the time of the day, me and my friend approach the establishment at about four o'clock or five in the evening, it might be better in the afternoon or after six o'clock pm. There's Ample parking and good access for a wheelchair and good access for wheelchair users to get to a table. First it's a traditional looking pub mock Tudor exterior with the traditional style pub decor, heavy wood . With a bar as you come through the main entrance. If you have come for a meal you have to wait at the entrance at the attendees point and then tell Her/Him if you have booked, she/he will then look at the booking list and if you're on the list she/he will show you too your table if not booked then you have to wait until a table is free. The atmosphere was a family friendly oriented place with people chatting and children being brought in by their parents and playing. The food was good " I had a large " my friend said I should have had extra large. Anyway got to the restaurant section got inline "didn't have to wait too long " got to the chef who was serving he asked me "what do you want " in reply I said "load it up ", I had everything but the mashed potatoes due to me having roasted instead "that's a conflict point for me " . Put on my gravy too finish. Returned to my table and promptly eat my meal lovely. Meat was succulent, vegetables cooked but still with bight, roasted potatoes nice and crispy outside but nice and fluffy inside with Yorkshire pudding and cauliflower cheese . All in half an hour "hungry did save myself for the meal" appreciated it a lot. My verdict very nice place to go for a meal, just make sure what the situation is first before you turn up .
Visited here a few times recently for family birthdays ect, the food is always delicious, the carvery & the breakfast buffet well stocked with plenty of choice! The staff are always friendly and go above and beyond to make sure we have everything we need!
