Travelled from chelmsford to brightlingsea today for fish and chips by the water. The food from this restaurant is amazing and the young girl serving was very polite and welcoming. Thank you for contributing towards a great day out. we will definitely be back.

BESTT FISH AND CHIPS IN THE AREA!! The fish was soo fresh and the service was amazing especially Aslan, he was so welcoming.

Lovely clean tidy restaurant, the food was gorgeous with perfect portions. The service was fabulous, we were not under pressure to order our food then when we did so it came out after a short while & hot.
For me, my only wish would have been music playing in the background. We will definitely visit this place again.

Shhhhh! Don’t let on, but the Waterside Fish and Chip Restaurant is probably the best south of the renowned Aldeburgh Restaurant and Takeaway!
Yes, that is quite a bold statement to make, but it is true!
Freshly cooked fish that is genuinely fresh with lovely crisp , light batter and big firm white flakes of fish. As for the chips, well, you will find the portion sizes are generous and as for the texture and flavour…wow!
OK, the good old British staple is no longer a cheap meal, but at the same time for an occasional treat a visit to the Waterside is one that will never disappoint! Living in Brightlingsea we are very fortunate…we don’t need an excuse to pop down the road to our favourite chippy!
