Cosy and warm atmosphere of Moroccan style with authentic and delicious dishes. You should take your own wine, as this restaurant is alcohol free:) Besides Arabic dancing on most Saturdays.:)

I booked this restaurant for a Friday night to celebrate our first wedding anniversary (we honeymooned in Morocco). We were a bit apprehensive on arrival as we were the only diners that evening, however we enjoyed the exclusivity and the service and food did not disappoint! Our only disappointment is there was no entertainment as described on their website and Trip Advisor reviews which we had hoped to see. Bring your own booze is a must a definitely try out the Mechoui!

Went there with my friends yesterday and it was amazing. Had the Mandi Lamb and it tasted amazing. Very warm and hospitable owner and staff. 10/10 would recommend coming here.

I came to Brighton on a short trip, and was searching for a place to eat. I was lucky to find Shaam restaurant. Very authentic Syrian food. The brick oven is perfect for all types of pies served (cheese, meat, zaater, etc). You should try. Grilled chicken is very yummy, well done in a rotating grill (shawayah). All other types of Syrian Middle Eastern food are served there, such as kibbeh, hummus, etc. Very professional and courteous. Reasonable prices. I will definitely come again on my next trip to Brighton.

For full flavour, atmosphere and proper home cooking this is the best and closest restaurant to authentic north African food I have ever had!
Tried to replicate it at home but no where near, will have to stay in Brighton again just to visit and enjoy this wonderful warm and welcoming restaurant!! Five stars all the way, excellent.
