At first, I was a little apprehensive about the close-knit seating arrangements, but that didn't prove to be any bother at all, in fact, it gave a nice vibe. The decorations inside are very interesting too!
The staff are all really nice and friendly, even though it must be very challenging for anyone working in a relatively small and pressurised environment such as this one. It's been busy probably half the times I've eaten there, and sometimes given a small wait time. With that all out the way, and pretty much of point, I'll get to the actual food!
The food is the best Mexican I've had, although I've not been to Mexico, I imagine it has been adapted only slightly to the real thing, but I wouldn't be able to say what. Maybe less Mexican-ness? Everything I've eaten there has been perfect and incredibly addictive and the price is so reasonable!
The only downside I can express is the fact it's quite a small establishment, but I guess that kind of gives it a homely flare to it.
Ps, this is the only restaurant review I've bothered to ever do (within memory) so they must be doing something right for me to have been motivated!
Went here with two of my friends on the 15th of March. I had pulled pork quesadillas with Naga Salsa and woooah did the salsa burn my mouth but it was worth it. I will definitely be popping in here for lunch again whenever I'm in Brighton as the staff were friendly and the food was well worth the pricing
I can't recommend La Choza enough if you're looking for delicious, authentic Mexican food. The food is fresh and full of flavour. The atmosphere is fun and family friendly. The staff are bubbly and you're guaranteed to have a good time. Great vegan options and lots of delicious options for meat lovers as well. As well as great food, they do delicious margaritas as well and have a very decent selection of beers and wines.
One of the best places to have food from Mexico in Brighton. Every single thing, the chips and dip, the quesedillas, tacos was fresh, flavourful and the portions are just right. Good margheritas too. The decor is great and gives a lively cantina vibe. Had a lovely time!
Very good mexican food! Many choices so everyone will find something to eat. The service was very nice and we didn't wait long. We would come to eat again!
The tastiest tacos 🌮 super fresh ingredients, the best guacamole I've eaten outside of Mexico 🇲🇽
Be warned La Chozas cocktails are so good you will find yourself making your way through the whole list! My friends and I ordered a different cocktail each to try, ended up ordering another two rounds.
The mescal list is extensive, these guys really know their stuff🔥😍

Good ambiance.Long established small restaurant.Not the first visit though previous was maybe 5/6 years ago .Food still tasty as before.I do not like huge amounts of food so this restaurant is ideal as they offer sensible size portions..Always easier to add on if one wants more.
They obligingly squeezed fresh lemon and topped up with tap water for me .They have a reasonable range of herbal teas also.
A great Mexican restaurant in the lanes! A must for a lunchtime stop in between your shopping. If you are wanting to sit outside I would recommend booking a table. The food was exceptional and the margaritas were on point 👌🏼
Been meaning to try La Choza for a while and we were pleasantly surprised, the food was really tasty and the restaurant was buzzing - great atmosphere and colourful decor. Plenty of choice on the menu and we look forward to trying more dishes! Our waitress was a little too keen to clear out plates despite the fact we were still eating, so we felt a little bit rushed - but other than that we had a great experience.
it's street food so not the most incredible food although still one of the top Mexicans in Brighton although it is starting to get pricey. still would definitely recommend it! the vegan options are great
What an amazing place and vibe! Went to this place after being highly recommended on my holiday. The calamari was delicious followed by a really tasty king prawn burrito. Service was great and will definitely return when I am back down way for sure!
