Never had a bad meal there. Even for a bite at lunch the team are really friendly and the food is good no matter the time of day. Relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend. I've been going for years ☺️
Just superb - service was top notch. BEST quality Sushi I've had in the whole of Brighton and a nice atmosphere, recommend their Volcano roll!!
I had a few recommendations from friends before and finally had my birthday dinner with family members. This is the best Japanese restaurant in the UK, I've never been to any better place than Sushi Garden Brighton even in London. Reasonable price, very cozy interior, super friendly and attentive staff and lastly, the food is literally amazing. It has everything restaurants should have. We were 10 of us so it was quite a big group but every dish arrived on time and everything was so fresh and piping hot! Strongly recommended.
The service was prompt and both staff and chef were very polite and friendly. There was a big party going on when we arrived without reservations. After we were seated, the chef came to inform us orders may take up to 45 minutes as they are busy serving the party. We do not mind the wait and happy if they could serve us drinks and appetizers while we wait. They promptly did and mains did not take long too.
Food is very good. Fish and seafood (sushi) was fresh. Presentation was simple. The broth of the udon was flavorful.
I was looking for a japnese restaurant that served Pork Katsudon and checked their menu via google maps and was disappointed to when we arrived that the did not have Pork Katsudon, they had Pork Katsu which is a very different dish. I ordered the pork katsu hoping my craving would be satisfied but I was still disappointed because the dish is dry despite the katsu sauce served with it. We ordered other dishes: Takoyaki, Chef's Teardrop (salmon lover roll), and Spider Roll. The Takoyaki was nothing special, it tasted like the frozen takoyaki we buy at asian supermarkets. The Chef's teardrop tasted wonderful as I am a salmon lover but I wish it had more rice and was bigger. The winning dish for me is the Spider Roll! The batter and seasoning of the soft shell crab was amazing! We are not locals and this is our first time dining here, and there is a small chance we will come back as they do not serve my favourite dish: Pork Katsudon. Service is amazing, food was served in good time and the staff are very friendly and professional. I loved the atmosphere and decors, felt authentically Japanese. They had spacious toilets for men and women with a baby changing area but not disabled friendly as it was downstairs.
A delicious and affordable lunch menu, friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. The sushi was superb, made by a beautiful young chef. I have been here many times and have always been impressed.
If I could give 6 stars I would.
Lunchtime meal and drinks.
This is an excellent restaurant and a must visit, it's like a mini slice of Japan in Brighton.
Made to feel very welcome, not over bearing, professional throughout.
The food is exceptional, the depth of flavours and delicate tastes come together exquisitely. Be that the noodles the sushi or the miso soups, all very tasty.
Very clean throughout.
The value, lunchtime, is very good.
I shall be returning for an evening visit next.
Love ❤️ this place. Food amazing, people kind, welcoming, clean and comfy. 👍
Attentive service and delicious food. Aside from cool food or sushi, they also serve a variety of hot or grilled items. If you like grilled fish, be sure to try the Hamachi Kama Shioyaki.
We were looking for an open restaurant after seeing a show, which is quite limited after 10pm. Sushi Garden was serving until 10:30 so we decided to give it a go. The staff were all really friendly and the food was freshly prepared and all tasted amazing! I would definitely recommend Sushi Garden to anyone looking for some tasty Sushi in Brighton.
Sushi has been an integral part of my life for many years, having been training in Japanese martial arts and immersing myself in Japanese culture from an early age. Our dining experience at Sushi Garden last night was an absolute home run!
Everything from the freshness of the ingredients, the mise en scene and decor and even the background music was authenticity Japanese and there's something for everyone on the menu.
If you're craving fresh fish prepared in the traditional Japanese way in Brighton, look no further than Sushi Garden. Kanpai! 🍣🇯🇵
I was surprised honestly. Wasn’t expecting the sushi to be great, but it was the only place in Brighton I could find that had hamachi kama. It was massive. Make sure to ask for ponzu though as it didn’t come with, and if you love wasabi ask for extra there too.

This is by far one of the best Japanese restaurants in Brighton! New ones have popped up over the years, but the flavor is just as unique as they were years ago! Enjoy the friendly atmosphere, the great food, and a good time! I could not recommend it more!
