The cafe has a lovely cosy atmosphere with enticing cakes displayed at the counter. Menu is varied and food well presented. Chicken schnitzel was tasty as was the ham hock hash that we ordered, although I did find the hash a little on the sweet side. Also the bun with the chicken was described as brioche, but it didn’t look or taste very brioche to me - see photo and make up your own mind. Friendly and efficient service. It’s a great place to stop off for brunch or for a coffee and cake.

Nice friendly atmosphere. Delicious coffee, friendly staff. Seating could be comfier and often its limited. The food is tasty, quite rich as they cover toast in butter, but yummy non the less. The music is a little too quiet for me, as can barely be heard and the cutlery isn't good quality but all in all a pleasant experience.

This is a lovely little cafe. The food is excellent, eggs that are served with a fantastic combination of herbs and seasoning. They taste fresh, and healthy. That goes for the home made hash browns as well, at last a hash brown you can eat guilt free. The coffee is lovely, served at the perfect temperature and very tasty. The service is great, the staff are all warm and friendly, creating an unrushed and relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely be back.

Man alive, the best hash browns ever created! We stayed for a weekend in Brighton and came here for breakfast both times, it was so good! The staff were all super friendly and lovely (and also lovely to our dog) plus the food and coffee was excellent. I may need to make weekly drives back down just for the hash browns…

Think it's safe to say this is best place for a breakfast. Loved it so much we went back the next day. Everything from the friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and the absolutely incredible food. I had the ham hock hash with was to die for! Tried abit of everyone else's as well and was all fabulous. Well done!

One of our favorite breakfasts. They're great for gluten free or coeliac with substitutions. Great coffee and tea. And whatever you do, try the beans. Homemade and fantastic with their weekend salt beef hash. The only caution is that the kitchen might be a little small for the number of tables, so at peak there can be a wait. The cafe is cozy and the music is usually on point, so if you're not in a rush - sit down, unwind, and enjoy.

This is a great find - a small, family run cafe that offer a great brunch! I visited with my parents, my mum is gluten free and notoriously picky & she loved this place, especially the gluten free brownies! My parents had already had breakfast so just opted for tea & cake but I had the eggs Benedict which was delicious. Good, home cooked food in a warm environment. What is not to like!??

My friends and I would have breakfast here after a long night shift and we always look forward to this treat. I have had their English breakfast twice. However, the first time I had the wholegrain beans but did not like it. I certainly did not stand for it the second time so asked if I can substitute it with something else-so ended up with an extra sausage. They ask you how you like your eggs done which is nice . This new kid in town has turned a new leaf compared to it's previous owners.

Breakfast is my favourite meal so I was excited to hear about Egg & Spoon. Sadly it was a massive let down and I won't be returning. I was hoping to cure my hangover with a tasty breakfast and I ordered the classic breakfast which sounded great on paper.... When it arrived it looked lovely on the plate but when I started eating it the beans we're cold which ruined the taste of everything. I called the waitress over and said the breakfast was really nice but could they please heat up the beans. You wouldn't think this would be so difficult right! So after a ridiculously long time my breakfast came back and guess what? The beans was still cold but also now one of my pieces of toast had disappeared! I could forgive them the first time but this was just so rubbish and was starting to put me in a bad mood as my friends and husband had all finished their breakfasts by now. So again I called the waitress over who didn't apologise or even try to be helpful. She took the breakfast off again and I would have thought after all of this time they would just make me a fresh breakfast but no it came back and now the beans we're warm but the bacon had been reheated and gone all dry and inedible and the worst thing of all was that underneath the beans they had tried to hide a burnt piece of toast. Really?! No one came over to check if it was ok and I ended up asking for my money back and leaving hungry. Absolute joke, worst service ever.

Had breakfast here this morning and it was a mixed bag. There were 4 of us and after a short wait we got a table. I ordered the salt beef hash, my wife and friends had the breakfast and we shared a French toast style croissant with strawberries. First the good. My hash was really good, the home made beans were nice as was everything and it was a nice sized portion. The croissant was also delicious and we scoffed it down. My wife also enjoyed her breakfast. Unfortunately our friend wasn't quite so lucky. She had to send her breakfast back twice as it was cold. The first time it came back it was missing a piece of toast and was still cold. The second time it came back it had a cremated piece of toast on it. By this time it had obviously just been through the microwave so many times that the bacon was now ruined and rock hard. The breakfast was pretty much inedible and my friend just gave up on it and asked for a refund which to be fair they gave although they didn't seem particularly happy to do it. They probably should have done a fresh breakfast rather than trying to salvage the original one. If I was rating this place on my food alone I would give it a 4 star but unfortunately due to the pretty poor service surrounding my friends breakfast they lose one star for the first time the breakfast went back, and another for the second.
