Having finally eaten everything on the menu I can only conclude that this is the best Pizza joint in town (yes, it's better than Pronto In Tavola, and yes, it's better than Pizzaface). Pizza500 have all the fundamentals; great base, great sauce, great combinations - the Granducato is the best pizza i've eaten outside of Napoli - and the fact that they humbly and discreetly produce the best ice cream that you'll find in Brghton (a town not running short of ice cream vendors) is an incredible bonus. Grape sorbet, caramelised pine nut ice cream, melon sorbet, pistacchio ice cream and even carrot ice cream, to name a small few; every gelato i've had from them is intricately nuanced and full of flavour.
If you're eating in, there's an open kitchen and hand-carved wooden furniture to sit on outdoors, and the selection of Italian beers is great if you're a lager fan.
The staff, who are, unsurprisingly, rushed off their feet most of the time, remain some of the nicest people you're likely to see all day.
Simply put, this is the finest restaurant of its kind in Brighton, well done Pizza500.
First time and we totally enjoyed the food was amazing the staff very friendly and helpful highly recommended eating here you won't be let down!!!!! Also the price of the food is great value for money
Amazing family run pizzeria with daily specials. Have been here several times with my family and it doesn't disappoint. This time I tried the coconut cake and some gelato for pudding, just divine. Our go to place when visiting kids at uni. Also love the pear juice 😋
I've eaten at Pizza 500 twice now, and it has been delicious both times.
Clearly this business is run authentically by people that know what's important in a restaurant - great ingredients cooked fantastically. And the results are incredible - one of the best pizza restaurants in Brighton, with great fish and pasta options too! The homemade gelato is also outstanding.
I highly recommend a visit here to anyone who wants a genuine taste of Italy in Brighton.
Lovely tasty pizza. Affordable, generous. Cute set up. Simple.
Fab pizza! Best in Brighton for sure. Amazing homemade gelato (though already prepackaged in cups to preserve its flavours). We were about 20 friends and enjoyed delicious food. The specials of the day would benefit to be written down (for non-Italian speakers), same for the bill to clarify among big groups like ours. Family-owned business with sunny disposition and great spirit. A must for food lovers!
Very friendly local/family feel, great authentic Italian pizza and totally affordable. The chef seems warm and lovely and makes sure you're looked after (also gave us helpful recommendations about Italy). Highly recommend!
One of those restaurants that you would not give a second look if you’d just be walking past. But boy, what a lovely surprise this place is. A rather messy but very special and cosy atmosphere. Lovely staff passionate about good Italian food.
The service-delivery was a bit chaotic but the quality of the food was just great!
Will be back!
Ever since pinocchio's closed I have been looking for a good quality Italian pizza place. I had all but given up hope... Until now. I ordered on delivery the classic egg and spinach pizza which is so hard to master but they have done so perfectly. Even on delivery the pizza was crisp, made with love and exceptionally good quality. Still nice and hot on arrival! Worth more than its weight in gold and I aim to try and dine in at some point because of how good the quality is.
Pizza 500 is hidden away on London road- blink and you’d miss it. Something of a pity as the whole setup is ramshackle, slightly chaotic and has really lovely warm, thoroughly Italian vibe to it. The pizza is really good- great flavours and a bit of a homemade character, in a good way. Their Gelato, when they have them, are worth the price of entry alone.
Miles away from the slick, slightly sterile, dining experience we expect from chains this place is old school, very real feeling and a great, relaxed night out
A hidden gem in Brighton. Had a wonderful dinner there, in a vibrant and friendly atmosphere. Homemade gelato: delish! Fresh ingredients and proper Italian crust for their pizza. Family owned and for sure a good address to pass on to your friends!
Everything about this place is fabulous - the staff are super friendly, polite and attentive. The food is incredible (best pizza I have had in a very long time), the price is incredibly reasonable for the quality and the restaurant itself is really cosy and atmospheric. It's always a joy to eat here.
