We found this little hidden gem by mistake and we went in for a drink bar staff incredibly friendly drinks were nice and pizza was excellent will Be going back there again And highly recommend ... a great place !!!
One of the best bars in Brighton in my opinion. Great venue with lots of character, friendly staff and a good mix of people. DJ played a good variety of just the right music that kept us all happy and the place jumpin' I'm not from Brighton but every time I visit I always make a point of visiting Dead Wax :-)
Great restaurants and the pizzas were pretty good. Nice thin crispy crusts and the sauce tasted fresh (although there was a lot of flour at the bottom of the pizza base). The atmosphere is great too, with good music and lots to look at on the walls
Since there’s so much choice in Brighton we took advice from friends and came here. The pizza was so good and is clearly made with good quality, fresh ingredients. The chef was good enough to specially make a salad as well because it was quiet. Would definitely come back when we’re around.
Love the atmosphere and drinks available at Dead Wax and got to try the food for the first time on my last visit. The garlic bread is delicious, as was the pizza; with the offer that was on making it even more enticing.
Unfortunately, there was too much vegan cheese on the vegan pizza we ordered and barely any of the other toppings. Don't know if this was because they were just busy or if it was because it was a BOGOF offer but it was rather disappointing after hearing such good things.
Have visited Dead Wax Social many times since they first opened and have been a big fan of their pizza kitchen.
On my last visit, we were a little disappointed to see that the menu had shrunk. Be warned that the menu on their website isn't actually their current one. However, everyone in our group found something to their taste. I enjoyed a vegan option - very tasty and impressively so considering I visited on day #1 of their new menu. No teething problems to be seen, but I do still miss their marmite dough balls so I hope they return!
Overall, one of my favourite places in Brighton for pizza. Will be back.
The pizza is decent, drinks are a little spendy but they have some student deals. Quiz is always fun. Djs can be very hot and miss but and a nice atmosphere.
Nice little London/Berlin style concrete bar, although not THAT cool, come on. Love the choice of beer and cider and if you are vegan they do fit vegan pizzas slathered in cheese for when you inevitably crave something after a pint too many. I'd love a techno night in there, it would make an awesome club!
Nice choice of drinks. Menu looked good but we had dinner planned elsewhere. Something different and a great vibe to relax in with a beer.
Great pizzas too!
Nice brews, well decorated, music started out Punk but moved towards to an incongruous blend of Brit Pop and Groove that didn't match the overall vibe of the decor
There are so many things to love about Dead Wax.
They play good music anyway but there’s also an extensive collection of vinyl that you can pick out to put on and the staff are super helpful at recommending a drink.
The beer collection is good, the pizza is epic and there’s always a relaxed friendly vibe that isn’t too in your face or crowded despite its location at the start of the Lanes.
My lost star is only down to the lack of non-alcoholic selection. Like most places in Brighton they assume that only men might not drink and so their only adult offering is cheap 0% lager (ick!!), despite offering local Laines beers on tap they don’t even offer the Laines 0% which is semi decent and so I ended up drinking an enormous of ginger beer instead.
Went for pub, it looked small from outside but was spacious inside. Music was great, loved that they had turn-tables. All of a sudden, they turned it to club with dj. It was so nice!!
