Enjoyed this pub - didn't eat. Has turntables supplying the music which as a record collector was nice to see. Good pints keenly priced for Brighton. Very clean facilities and very friendly and attentive staff. Top atmosphere and the locals were gave a warm welcome.
Really nice pub in Brightons infamous lanes. Sort of hidden but I suppose that makes it a gem of a place. Wasn’t very busy but had some really good music that the customers seemed to enjoy. Bar staff were very lovely and seemed to have a good rapport with the regulars. I was served by Dexter who offered me tasters and advised me on what’s popular and what’s not.
Overall I definitely recommend the pub, definitely my cup of tea! (or ale so-to-speak)
One of Brighton's best pubs, no question! A cozy dark little boozer with dimmed lights for maximum satisfaction. Pleasantly divers crowd with young and old. Always busy. Great music, DJs with eclectic selection of music. Never the same, always great!

Absolutely amazing pub!
We first wandered into the pub not particularly realising it existed and I’m so glad we did.
We were greeted by Leah and Adam who was very lovely and offered us ample assistance in the vast variety of drinks they had to offer. She allowed us to sample a variety of ales until we found the one, and what a good pint it was!

What a pub! Quite frankly the best pub in Brighton. The atmosphere is amazing; on a busy evening, the pub is filled to the brim, music you can't help but love and staff working their hardest to ensure everyone enjoys their night. On the quieter days, it is equally lovely, with a nice and peaceful environment. They have an impressive selection of all spirits, and whilst their speciality is whisky, there are plenty of other spirits, ales, larger and many more to offer if that's what takes your fancy. The music is unique, with some fabulous DJ's playing every weekend. 100% recommend, whatever your mood.
I visited on my recent return to the UK and very much enjoy my evening at The Great Eastern. Excellent beer, great music, friendly and helpful staff and a brillent atmosphere. I visited on a Saturday night so the pub was busy, unsurprising due to what a great pub this is. I strongly recommend a visit.
Was in town for a couple of weeks and this pub quickly became my go to spot, great beer, and ale selection, very friendly staff (Evie was my fav barkeep). The entire team was quite welcoming and friendly, very nice regulars as well. They also have a great rotation of talented and interesting DJs Overall great pub
Had a great time at a DJ night at the bar. It may be a little cramped inside, but the street outside has an incredibly friendly, lovely atmosphere and the music was great.
Would highly recommend this as a night out.
Had a fantastic visit to the eastern a few weeks back and was served by Jonny with the beard. Wonderful vibe, incredible selection of goodies and all at competitive prices too, the soundtrack was spot on too!
So lovely to see how this wonderful establishment has grown over the years and reached a sterling standard! Great job to Tony and the team, can’t wait to come back!
