Friendly staff, queue mid Saturday afternoon, macchiato lovely but rather on small side, generous and yummy cake though, fab and original decorations.
Brilliantly quirky decor, friendly staff and an interesting variety of food. It also has a great, relaxing back garden and is dog-friendly too! The over-riding thing for me though, is that every time I go in there I notice something that I haven't seen before! Highly recommended :)
London Road Calling. If you like a bit of Rock 'n' Roll with your coffee this place is for you.
It's shabby chic interior with an eclectic mix of object d'art gives this indie roast house its alternative vibe.
If you prefer your chic over your shabby close your eyes and with lips to cup taste the delights of the blend of distraction. Probably the best coffee I've tasted in Brighton.
I am writing this review as I am sat in a Presuming Ed's Coffeehouse with an hour to kill - I couldn't wait til later to write about this wonderful place!
As many locals may or may not know, Presuming Ed's is the sister coffeehouse to the ever popular Marwood's, purveyors of kick ass coffee and life changing cake.
Situated on London Road, it has opened just as The area is going through a bit of regeneration, with new pubs, bars, the new Open Market and new halls of residence opening over the past year.
The decor is true to the Marwood's style, with quirky mismatched furniture and crazy art adoring the walls. Hipster's paradise! Although there is a wide range of people here right now :)
I opted for my usual soya flat white and had a slice of blueberry and white chocolate cake. It's not often that cake renders me speechless but WOW. I feel like grabbing the whole cake off the counter and running off! I won't though... I'm far too lazy and not at all subtle.
Long story short - you need to try this place!
Lovely atmosphere with a ton of ply points to charge your electronics while you work. Great place to chill and read too. The long black was just ok but the plenty cake was delicious. The iced drinks and the rest of the food sounds good to, think I'll be back to give it a try. :)
Definitely one of my favorite spots in Brighton. Might be beating out marwood cafe since it has a lot more space and sun, just wish they had better coffee
Presuming eds new breakfast menu is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Damn, those wild garlic mushrooms with the full English breakfast and avocado and halloumi bagel with chilli jam is simply divine.
Presuming eds has always had a great reputation for food but now I'm not going to be able to keep away.
Nice and interesting place to have a drink.
I had only hygiene issue about the place, and toilets that flush did not work.
Fantastic Sunday roast ! One of the best veggie roasts I’ve had in ages ! The chicken roast was also very good (so I am told)
Laid back and rustic. Wonderful cakes,
coffee, fresh mint tea, and drinks. All
served in a great atmosphere. Very
friendly staff. Fantastic outside seating.
Licensed. Great WI-FI. Annual South
Coast Barista Jam - raising money for
Mind. See FB for details. Easy access.
Presuming eds has been through many graduations starting as a coffee shop (a great one at that) to now, a kitchen, bar, club.. what ever you need really! Serving budvar (seems hard to come by these days). You get a great experience for a decent price.. highly recommended, if you are going for food check before going as I think the kitchen has varying days/hours of service. I have only been for breakfast and have an inclining that maybe breakfast/ brunch is all the kitchen does. Don't take my word though give it a go you will be hard pressed not to have a good time.
Cool bar/cafe. Loud but good music. Lots of options. Really nice place
The vegan oriental food I ate at this establishment was just spectacular! Feel bad that I forgot the name of the dishes and unfortunately it isn't located on the Google menu. But, i believe the first dish was sweet potatoe fries in sweet chille sauce (and other ingredients I'm sure) with a vegan "pork belly" topped with hoisin sauce in a bao bun (also other ingredients in there I'm sure). Was very very tasty and unbelievably satisfying. The atmosphere was warm, pleasant and had a great selection of background music. Staff was friendly with very efficient service aswell. A wonderful experience and so glad i visted this place.
Very unassuming and laid back coffee house. I had the vegan orange cake and the first non-dairy cappuccino I’ve found anywhere since becoming lactose intolerant (granted we’re new to Brighton and it’s probably more commonplace than anywhere else but it still felt like a treat!) The staff were friendly but left us alone to get on with our yummy cakes. It felt like the right atmosphere to just ‘be’ with nobody paying attention to anyone else’s business
Quirky looking coffee house.
Loads of different coffee beans for the conisure. The house blend is fine.
Chilled atmosphere. Places where you can and can't use wi-fi. All on one floor, so access for wheelchairs is ok. There is an outside eating area in the front.
Food looks good, tastes better. At least vegetarian but much is vegan. Looks homemade. Prices are less than certain well known brands of coffee places.
The place has the feel of an old fashioned pub. The staff are really good. Chatty, generally nice to chat with. I have been 2 times... They remembered how I have my drink a week later.
Bumped into a friend outside, so went in. Instant chilled vibe. Hugely eclectic decor and 'lived-in' feel. Didn't have any limes for our g&t's... so the (I think) owner/manager, went out and got some. Don't know if it was Happy Hour, but 2 large g&t's for £12 was impressively cheap. Busy for the time of day without feeling crowded. Will return for more than a quick drink.
