Truly spectacular. A remarkable Regency era palace commissioned by George IV, set amongst attractive gardens.
The exterior of the building, inspired by Indian architecture, sets it apart from any other royal palace in the UK. Inside, spectacular decoration adorns every room, from the kitchen and dining hall to the magnificent music room. There are numerous ornaments, artworks and fine furnishings throughout.
Information panels point out significant features as you walk around, and an exhibition charts the building's history, from its construction and development to later use as a WW1 military hospital.
There's a café on site, and a gift shop and accessible toilet in the building.
Tickets were £18 for adults when I visited, not cheap but valid for one year from the date of purchase, and there's so much to see that the Royal Pavilion would easily warrant return visits. Discounts available for local residents, students and English Heritage members, so it's worth checking if you're eligible when booking.
The most beautiful place to get married.
Sarah was the most wonderful person to work with, alongside Trish. They went above and beyond to make everything simple and easy for us during wedding planning and also on the day.
Everyone still can't believe we got married in the Pavilion! Such a special experience, I could not recommend it enough!
I wish we had more time here!! This is a beautiful place! It looks like a palace! The detail of the exterior is phenomenal and exquisite. We didn't have time to go inside. I can imagine how lovely it is inside just looking at the exterior. People were hanging out on the lawn, so it's anice place to sit and soak up the beauty. I could have taken loads more photos, but time ran out. We will have to go back!
For a few days we came from London to this beautiful seaside town of Brighton. My daughter took us along the paths of her role model Zoe, who lives in this place. So we took a look at this beautiful mansion.
The Royal Pavilion, also known as the former royal residence. It was built for Prince George of Wales. There is now a beautiful park where people are very relaxed and enjoy the beautiful views of the pavilion.
An absolutely gorgeous and decadent piece of British history, carefully preserved and restored. The banquet room is simply stunning, with dragon chandeliers, painted palm ceilings and oriental details everywhere. The entire Palace is full of intricate designs from hand painted wallpapers, bamboo effect railings, a theme of dragons and snakes hidden or fully displayed in gold mouldings. There are also outfits on display. The kitchen is also probably one of the best examples of a complete working historical kitchen.
Absolutely amazing place. Really like the decor. The audio guide is very detailed which you can listen to on your mobiles.
You can use Rail2for1 to get buy 1 ticket online for 2 persons, though this is just a one-off ticket. A full priced ticket allows to return for free for 12 months.
Fabulous place, so interesting. One of the best buildings to visit. Beautiful decor etc. Pictures dont do it justice. Gardens need some attention, bit scruffy.
The palace and its gardens, where the late queen used to spend her summers, are must-see places. This structure, notable for its inspiration from Indian architecture, adds uniqueness to the city. You need to purchase a ticket to explore the interior.
Nice historical building, recommend when visiting Brighton. Advise following audio on tour for better experience.
Outside the grounds could do with improving as can be a bit unfriendly depending on the time
This is a superb venue!! I wasn't sure what to expect and visited with my daughter on a whim, but it was amazing!
Beautiful decor and incredible features... Its worth using an audio guide which will give you an insight into the life of a King.
The tickets may appear pricey (£18.00), however, you can visit as many times as you like for 1 year! There's so much detail, you won't be disappointed.... It's fascinating!
