Was here with the wife & had fish & chips, homemade chips with a lovely pea purée & mayo dip. £10 each & was worth it,decent little pub for a few beers too.
Called in to get dinner after driving all day from Chester to get to Brighton, headed to the sea front near the pier to find a Fish and Chip shop and came across this one. The inside needs a lick of paint and a good clean, the food just about passes the edibility test. Had a sit down in the cramped corner to watch the comings and goings, it is a very busy place. There were several complaints about the prices when I was there. I would say the main thing it has going for it, is its location.
The fish and chips were amazing I don't know why people have been saying the fish was boney. Didn't have 1 bone in the cod and it was tasty not greasy . The chips were lovely as well. The best chip shop I've been to for years.
Perfect fish and chips. Best ever. Down for the weekend and will definitely be eating from you again
Had the haddock and chips. Would say that the service was good despite the long queue. Their staffs were friendly too. Fish and chips by the sea 👌🏼
Best fish and chips I ever had food was so fresh stuff was so friendly definitely I will eat from there every time I come to Brighton highly recommended 👌🏽
Lovely fish with friendly customer service. Lost one star because of the price - £9.50 for one portion of fish and chips!
Most seafront Fish and Chip shops that I've had experience of really on their location to make up for the quality of their food. Not so Fish and Chips!
The batter was light, the chips weren't overcooked and the portion was the perfect size.
Brilliant Fish and Chips.
I've lived in Brighton for almost 10 years and the rumours are true that for a seaside tourist town, a great chippy can be hard to find.
Just go here.
Happy, funny, allergy aware and very fair prices.
Edit: 2 years later, still fantastic!
Probably the nicest fish and chips in Brighton, and the seagulls don't bother you either sitting outside.
Excellent quality Fish and Chips! I came down to Brighton from London for a day out because who doesn’t love Brighton! This is by far, one of the top spots for Fish and Chips in Brighton! Firstly, don’t be fooled by looks of the shop. A classic, traditional design which is great! The quality of the Fish and Chips were amazing! The cod was well cooked throughout and was huge! They give loads of chips with your order and they are very generous with the portions! Due to how busy they get, your food will always be piping hot and fresh! The chips were nice and big and were cooked very well. The batter wasn’t very oily, it was crispy and tasted amazing. The prices are decent. £11.95 for a Large Cod and Chips is not bad at all. Trust me, the places on Brighton Pier which are much cheaper are nowhere near as good as this place! The staff are very friendly and the customer service is great! We asked for the table to be cleaned, the staff very quickly cleaned the table and very nicely for us, despite now busy the store was! The same man who opened the store 50 years ago is still serving customers till this very day! Dedication and spirit! Overall, I strongly recommend this place for you!
