I honestly don't know where the bad reviews are from. These guys are the best takeout I've been to in Brighton so far. Nice staff, affordable prices, quick service, and just all round good vibes. I enjoyed their meal and came back the next day. I mean, for me to come back to drop a review, I felt it's the least I can do to help this small business for giving good service. Humans are hard to please, I don't know where the bad reviews are from really.
Food wasn’t hot. It was just luke warm. Salt & chilli squid and Chrispy shredded chilli beef has texture like rubber. First time and last time.
Further to the above review, we’ve discovered that the cold food was entirely the fault of the Uber delivery driver. He kept our meal for 40mins and then made another delivery before ours. So the restaurant is not to be blamed.
We were pleasantly surprised by how much this takeaway has improved since we last ordered. Food was delicious and fresh, delivered quickly and still hot. My only complaint would be the small size of the satay sauce — for £2.50, it was not worth the price and much smaller than any extra sauce we’ve ordered before. Would not pay this price for a small plastic pot again. It was a shame as the sauce was delicious and this was our only issue. Would recommend!
Brilliant. Ordered through a known prover, delivewambat...., Deliverwwws were useless, couldn't/ wouldn't help at all.
The restraunt, perfect, great communication, so understanding, brilliant food (they took a chance).
I will always prefer direct, delighted with the food and the service from the restaurant (the wombats can go jump) - much cheaper direct

After all that terrible reviews on Google I was scared to order from Shanghai Garden. But i did it and I am happy to get hot, fresh and tasty food. The portions are big. Food is spicy balanced and delicious. Separate thanks for the quick delivery.
Best Chinese takeaway about. Massive vegetarian selection and all the food we've tried tastes great. Counter staff are always happy to see you.

Fantastic little takeaway spot. Food came very hot and freshly made. Chilli beef was crunchy, sweet and tangy just like mother earth envisioned it. The lemon chicken was also delicious and sweet, perfect for dipping the prawn crackers. Prawn toast was nice, soft and crunchy outsides.
Must be under new management because I can’t believe all the 1* review.
Now I found this gem I won’t order Chinese food anywhere else.
