Definitely recommend this Chinese restaurant in Brighton. The baked crab shell is amazing. The stir fry king prawn is impressive as well. Very fresh ingredients and gorgeous service with authentic taste. Quite popular among local Aussie residents. Will absolutely go back!!!

Our first experience at Gold Moon. Very warm and hospitable welcome from the staff. Ordered one of their Organic Chicken Fried Rice. It’s super tasty and fresh. Im really amazed about the idea they have chosen black rice instead of jasmine rice for the fried rice. If you look for a healthy Chinese restaurant this place will be you top option without doubt. Also I highly recommend the king George whiting which is a Chinese fusion deep fired white fish. Overall, it’s a great spot for family gathering, great atmosphere and environment. Definitely coming back. Good bang for the bucks!

I just had a lovely meal with my friend which was just lovely and good taste. We also had a good dining experience with a good atmosphere.

The environment of the restaurant is great 👏 spacious and quiet, those bamboos are very artistic. The food is also very good, the fried oysters are really delicious, the quality of the oysters is good, the fried wagyu is first-rate, and the price is not expensive.

Gold moon is back!!!!
Second night out of lockdown 4.0
Service 3/5
Food 4/5
Would I recommend: hell yes.
Brilliant effort given the events of the past weeks.
They should be very proud.
Food was great, service was trying hard. No favourites which has been my complaint in the past.
Patrons all seamed happy.
Under $250 for 2+2 which was very affordable given the quality
A few mistakes but not enough to not give an overall 5/5.
Sorry the photos are not complete dishes but it was very good food.
Look forward to going back.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner here that tasted authentic and the ingredients all seemed fresh and high quality. The seafood especially was a delight. A great option for Chinese food in this area.

I am giving 4 stars this time for few reasons. First at all, their services have improved - able to use English properly and much better attitude. Generally their deep fly dishes are better due to they just make it for you - fresh, hot and not over cooked. One of main reasons for me to come here is the environment, unlike normal yum tea restaurant to put pressure on you, you are able to relax and enjoy time during the meal.

Went here for the AYCE Yum Cha $29 pax (was $25).... so here’s the lowdown....
Food is actually pretty good, I was quite impressed! Prawns were of quality and consistent in each dumpling used. They even had the prawn wrapped in noodle thingy don’t know what it’s called in engerish! Prawn rice noodle roll? Anyway that was good! Don’t expect chicken feet or tripe... after all we are in snotty Brighton... white wine is paired with your prawn dumpling and sesame prawn... we opted for tea.
Signage is poor here so may have to ask people where it is. It’s on the old La Porchetta site.
There is ALOOOOOOT that can be improved here...
There are 2 seatings. Kitchen and management cannot get the timing right and preparation for seating #2 is POOR!! it is either there is no food! and you have to wait 1hr!!!! Or be content with desert as your first few things you eat. Get your back of house right!!! Kitchen should already be ready steaming up and about to serve seating #2 as deserts are rolled out to seating #1!! Bit of pressure but that’s the nature of F&B. I have never been in a chinese restaurant where I have waited sooooooo long for food that my tee in my tea pot is COLD!!!
Instead of a trolley wait staff have to carry steamers using a round tray... Issue with this method is that tables do not get enough food especially when there is no food streaming out of kitchen... waitress comes out with food goes to 2 tables.. and no more!!! During this visit 4 tables complained!! It is not the wait staff but poor management!!! Very amateur!! No idea of how a floor should be ran!! Tables not yet served either are missed totally or told to wait! It was pretty comical to witness really. I felt sorry for the wait staff I really wanted to get up and go inside the kitchen! Haha
Another observation.. Food and dirty dishes go through the same small window where orders are dishes up!! Wow! Have the health inspectors come through yet. It is so easy for piled up dirty dishes to fall onto food that is supposed to be served!
Kinda a plus near the end ... wait staff had decency to bring out menu and apologised and asked us whether we wanted to order before kitchen closes... there was the sticky rice, egg tarts, fried calamari!!! maaaan management was holding back. during this time PRC boss lady walks out and declares kitchen closed! wow!! very nice service indeed...
Anyway ... WIR??? Yeah food is actually good. With improvements to how the floor is ran I think they will do well.
