We popped in for a pint (Pheasant excellent) had two then returned later for a meal. Friendly landlord, nice atmosphere and the food was Excellent. Busy for a Tuesday evening in a small hill top village.

My partner and I had a meal here on a Saturday evening. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were so welcoming and friendly. Lovely views from the outside. We both had the tricolore to start off from the specials board, and the pesto was delicious. I then had the spaghetti con fungi which was a perfectly sized portion and tasted amazing. My partner had the steak frites with peppercorn sauce from the specials menu. He absolutely loved it - I have never seen him eat a meal so slowly to savour it. We didn’t have to wait long for our food at all, if anything we could’ve had a few more minutes between courses but other than that our experience was perfect. Will be coming back!

Wow! Exceptional food and friendly, welcoming staff. The views are beautiful and you can see five counties from the terrace. It is apparently the inspiration for Tolkien's Hobbit Shire. The pub is set in a picturesque quintessential village. There are also some lovely walks from the windmill. Highly recommended!

Excellent food, nice atmosphere and service. Just need to not block the wheelchair access with fridges. But we got up the steps ok. Certainly go here again if we are in the area. Parking is interesting

Lovely little village pub, decent choices and had a veg option. Think they may have a reduced Sunday lunch menu but the nut roast was lovely and the portion size massive. Too busy and hot to sit outside on the upper area, lower area was less busy but unfortnately they only serve chips in that area

Well after a frustrating 2 weeks trying to contact the Pheasant to book a table - phone line not working and no response to initial online table reservation email - my wife and I along with 2 of our friends enjoyed a lovely meal in this ideally located pub with a great view towards the windmill. The staff were polite and efficient , and the steak was the best I had tasted for sometime, this along with my wife's choice of fish was from the specials board. We will definitely return for another meal in the future but would urge the owners to take the time to update their website as it only shows a Christmas menu for 2022, and they would also have been able to advise their customers of the ongoing phone issues for table bookings

Visited the Pheasant pub for a Sunday roast . On our way there I was having a conversation with my partner about how I always go for chicken since had many very disappointing experiences with beef roasts before . Arrived at the Pheasant and to my surprise there was no chicken option on the menu… so I’ve ordered beef fearing yet another mediocre over cooked, tasteless meat. Omg I couldn’t be more wrong , it was the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had. Beef wasn’t over cooked , was slightly medium in the middle , not fatty, just perfectly cooked. Superb gravy ( most pubs serve this runny tasteless one ) with all the trimmings, everything was delicious . We will be definitely back again and soon, thank you for proving good beef roast do exist 😀.
