Had the single origin as a half full long black and it was really very nice so went back to get an espresso and another half full long black on the house blend. Mistake. Actually didn't take more than a sip on either, they looked great in the cup but they were bitter and burnt tasting. Normally I'd say that would be an extraction issue but for both coffees giving the same burnt flavours it seems more likely a roasting issue. Too dark? A bad batch maybe.

I have the pleasure of being a local. I am a regular- Chai Latte, skim, no cinnamon, burning tongue lava hot! The girls are always obliging and remember my ridiculous request and always deliver it piping hot. They even place a second take away cup for me due to the scolding nature- just how I like it. So many places never listen to an extra hot request. Thank you South Coast Coffee- 5 stars always.

Thought I’d try this place for breakfast. Reviews look good regarding coffee. I was asked to present my Covid certificate which I was happy to do to dine in. I noticed as I dined, other patrons who were sitting in, weren’t asked for their Covid certificates. Admittedly there was different staff at the counter. I wanted scrambled eggs on toast, however was told they only served fried eggs on toast. I ordered the eggs with bacon and relish on sourdough and a pot of tea. My teaspoon was dirty, as was my tea cup. I cleaned the cup myself and asked for a new spoon. When my breakfast arrived, the knife was soiled and hadn’t been cleaned properly. I ended up cleaning the cutlery myself and then sat down to eat a very ordinary breakfast. Especially with the Covid Pandemic risk, I would expect better hygeine practices. Definitely a waste of my time and money!
