Addendum: I have upgraded to 3 stars! Hubby went to a function here a week later for 25 people. He said everyone was satisfied with their meals, and said they were regular pub meals as you would expect. Nothing out of the box, but just as you would expect to find in any Brisbane pub. So - good on you guys for upping your game. (But sadly on the day we were there checking out the food for the function, the chef didn't seem to have her eye on the ball, and was not ready to hear that something was not quite right with the food.) I hate writing negative reviews but I have to say lunch today was mostly left on my plate. Gotta say the staff were lovely and friendly, but the food let us and them down. My barra had clearly come out of the freezer; that’s okay but it was flat and dry like a piece of cardboard; not pleasant to eat. The hollandaise was either rancid or just made with some really odd substances. (The friend said it tasted like orange!) The chef disagreed and said it was buttery; nope, just tasted awful. Hubby said it came out of a large catering container, so I hope the rest was edible but I doubt it. She did replace it with a not too bad aioli. (Oh yes, and the mash was almost cold.) Hubby had a meat pie with onion rings. He said the pie filling was pretty good but the pastry undercooked and not nice to eat. The friend had chicken parma, which was a generous size – in fact, she took half of it home so I guess it was okay. All up, a disappointing experience though the many ladies of a certain age who were lunching would disagree I suppose.

Saturday night poker with APL is as good as it gets. If you havent tried APL then I highly recommend coming along for a game. The staff are cheerful, the atmosphere is relaxed and the heer is cold. All you need is a chip and a chair and you could come out on top with a couple hundred in your pocket to boot. Two games a week, Wednesday and Saturday.

We’ve been here twice now and the steaks we’ve ordered have been cooked to PERFECTION. The garlic sauce is the best we’ve ever had. Keep cooking the food like this and we’ll keep coming back. This is our go to date night pub.

Hi there. I’m not one for writing reviews but I feel like I have to. I had been to Edinburgh Castle about a year ago and was disappointed with the food, however satisfied with the drinks (although not a large range of beers on tap). I decided to give it a another go after my mate informed me of a new bistro and chef. When we got there it was dead quiet with not much atmosphere (I was concerned), it appears that the manager does not know how to greet and spark conversation with new guests. Very little attention was given to us and it seemed he wanted us gone. Although we were one of the only people there our food took well over half an hour to come. Food was still distasteful so will not be returning soon. I see there are many glowing reviews so perhaps we came in a wrong night or spoke to the staff the wrong way.

The worst pub I've been too, I got kicked out. All because I was concerned the bar ppl took glass out the back and filled it. I've never seen a pub do that in front of a woman. Considering i was basically the only one. My drink got took off me the was told to collect my money and leave. Well didn't i leave with a good temper them. They spiked my drink

Popped in for a meal and beer on a Sunday afternoon. We sat in the sports bar and the atmosphere was friendly. The menu looked quite nice, however we were very disappointed when our meals came out cold. Apparently the buzzer wasn’t working, so instead of them coming and searching for us after a couple of minutes, our meals must have been sitting their waiting for well over 10-15 minutes as my chicken schnitzel was cold on the inside. Very disappointed with this, so won’t be going back for food anytime soon, but would be happy to go for a casual drink.

A nice pub with a good atmosphere. I didn't get a chance to try their cocktails or shots, but will give them a go next time.
