Cootie Brown's Bristol

It had been years since I last patronized Cootie Brown's because we have since lost the Kingsport location in my hometown, but I had seen a social media post about their Sunday Brunch and Bloody Mary Bar. The Bloody Mary Bar is the best in tje region and most affordable at $4 per and Mimosas at $2 per. The offerings on the bar are many, and the Breakfast Burrito I ordered was the best I've ever had. I strongly recommend this establishment!

Stopped in for a lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the grilled salmon salad and was presented with a large plate of crisp fresh greens, olives, onions, and a perfectly cooked salmon filet. I loved the Luxembourg dressing on the salad as well. Then I had a yummy slice of their key lime pie for dessert. Mmm!

The pulled pork was a little dry and I wouldn’t get it again, but the key lime pie is amazing!!! Not overly sweet and not overly tart, just a perfect balance. The tamales are pretty big so two is plenty for a meal. Best part of the it was Joe, the waiter. Very friendly and was on top of any request I had. Definitely worth a second visit to try more pie/dessert and get great service.

One of the better offerings in the area. Walk into a funky colorful restaurant, with a huge and comfortable covered indoor/outdoor patio. Sit down and start ogling the 4 newspaper page menu. Server Benjamin was on point, with good suggestions and great service. This time out went with their sweet potato crisps (circle cut chips) Jamaican beef pocket, wedge and steak salad, and jerk chicken plate. The sauce they serve with their Jamaican / jerk offerings is quite special, manages to bring a sweet, tangy, complex taste with a spice hit at the end. Portions were generous and sides paired well. All and all a good experience. I rarely rate 5's, but they're bordering that territory. Well worth the visit.
