Great place with the nicest people! We were traveling thru while on vacation and stopped in for hand dipped ice cream. We are so glad we did. Clean and neat, delicious ice cream, friendly owners, and my sundae was served in a glass dish with a real spoon! Hope to be back someday.

Waitress dis not bring us drinks we has to ask for them after we got our food. My omlet had no cheese in it and was very dry. Waitress never came back and checked on us but they was all nice. Floors looked like they had never been moped underneath of the seats and the menus are laminated and were disgusting there was food and sticky stuff all over them. They need to wipe them down. But the gravy and biscuits and the milkshakes are off the hook 😁

Just stopped in to get ice cream and the place is small and cozy and very friendly. Their cotton candy ice cream is heavenly! My boyfriend loves his cookies n cream too. Would come back for sure!

Nestled at the bottom of a residential hill transecting communities, State Street Sweets and Eats, formerly Kay's Ice Cream, is a place with a cultural landscape equal to it's tastes. Most noticeable, sweets, otherwise known as Jessica, the store's manager, gets to know all of her customers and speedily wins them over or offers to drive them home if it starts raining – she takes her career seriously. Her trusted cooks, sweet and savory, perhaps the most overqualified bunch in town, mull over their poems on their way to serve you coffee. Stay for a while. Welcome to the heart of Bristol, central to everything. Know them. The Hardware store owner, down for lunch, or Carl's mechanic, all line up for their generous servings. Church go-ers, newspaper readers, artists, or the down and out, sweet women and savory women, sweet men and savory men, although there is much chewing, and the conversation is as you would expect in a home town place like this, this restaurant will always be the community hub of our city. There is a common chord here, something unspoken, a reason beyond food that we come here. Every community needs an epicenter, often coffee shops, always small, historic places like this, a place that feels like home.

Excellent ice cream. Great assortment of flavors. I recommend the cookies 'n cream flavor. Not so sure on the other food. I usually only go there for the dessert. The place doesn't look half bad. The people are always friendly.

If you want a fancy place you will want to go somewhere else. However, if you are looking for a great sundae at a reasonable price this is the place. We got the biggest banana splits that were delicious and just overflowed with toppings. So far this is our favorite place to get ice cream sundaes in Bristol.

We spent over $20 for just 2 people including ice cream but no drinks. We got our Food to go and the food was gross. We got pulled pork and mushroom swiss burgers and the pulled pork was extremely spicy and the mushroom and swiss didn't have the mushrooms all the way cooked. Chilli cheese fries were not any better. Chilli tasted cheep and fries were not done. Ice cream was gross as well. The one and only person who cooked and was the waitress was friendly and willing to go above and beyond but didnt have a hair net or even her hair pulled back. Will not be returning.

As a child, we came here when it was Kay's Ice Cream and then State Street Sweets and Eats. Ice Cream was great lot thicker and creamier than I remember. Tried their chicken and mozzarella sticks, fresh and delicious!!!! :)
