Casual Inn

Went for the first time in a very long time on NYE..our reservation was for 3 people at 7pm..we we're greeted and seated promptly although in the bar area when there was lots of room in the dining room. Our waitress was kind and pleasant but we felt neglected because the kitchen was overwhelmed. The restaurant didn't seem prepared for a busy night..I blame management! The hostess was turning away walk inside even though there were empty tables. We ordered a app of calamari right away. It took more than 45 minutes for the app. We thought our meals were going to come before the app did. Finally, the app was served. During this time, our glasses were dry and it seemed like they only had one waitress. Poor planning by management. Our waitress then came over to inform us that at 7:30 on a big holiday, they ran out of mashed potatoes. We eat out daily..we've never been to a restaurant that ran out of mashed! Finally, our meals were served. My husband ordered two lobster plates and they were served without butter. Just a very disappointing dinner on big celebratory night.. definitely will go elsewhere in the future. Sorry Casual Inn.. your attention to detail is just too casual for me.
