Fabulous food, beautifully presented. We enjoyed the nine course tasting menu and shared a wine flight (half a glass each - highly recommended whenever you’re having a tasting menu). The presentation of each dish and every glass of wine was passionate and knowledgeable, the flavours were great and sometimes really exciting. The restaurant took the trouble to mark the wedding anniversary we were celebrating in a very sweet way which was lovely.
As many reviewers have mentioned the pace of the service was very slow with long waits between dishes. This meant we were there for three and a half hours. Much as I enjoy savouring a meal this was far too long.
Overall we enjoyed our experience. The quality of the food (which would clearly take a huge amount of time, effort and skill to produce) justified the price tag.

A culinary experience, that's for sure!
Staff were brilliant, service was great. We were given complimentary drinks too when we arrived due to having a nightmare day and we weren't sure if we were going to make it so that was also lovely of them to do that.
Went for the 9 course tasting menu, and a wine flight each.
Would recommend the wine flight with the courses, some of the flavour combinations were just brilliant and the wine really helped bring the dishes together.
I'd say don't go in expecting anything, as whatever you think you're going to get, it will be served in a way you're not expecting!

Great experience, incredible food, very knowledgeable staff. A real treat, certainly will be back in the future.
Every course was lovely.

Fish course was a tad too salty, but otherwise a fairly good value and delicious dining experience. Service was exceptionally obliging and warm. Only issue is that the tables were a bit too low, and seats were too high. Made for rather awkward seating.

At first glance, Bulrush might give off the impression of being a peaceful dining spot, with delicately infused, subtle flavors. However, this could not be further from the truth! The dishes here are as subtle as the blaring test nuclear warning alert that echoed across our phones at 3 pm. Brace yourself for a flavor explosion! The Japanese-style amuse bouche consomme blew us away, paving the way to an unforgettable culinary experience characterized by vivid and daring flavor combinations. The attentive service and exceptional wine pairings only added to the complete package of excellence. Without a doubt, one of the most superb meals we have ever had!

I had a wonderful time dining at Bulrush as I set out to experience the 8-course tasting menu.
Though I would’ve preferred to be seated in a more inclusive area (I was tucked away in the corner, away from everyone and right next to the door that constantly let the cold air in) the staff was still friendly and attentive to my needs.
Each course (as pictured) had a very nice presentation. The two standout dishes were the Tunworth cheese ice cream (soba honey, black chestnut) with homemade cracker and the specialty pork dish that was offered as a supplement. The Tunworth cheese ice cream was by far my favorite dish…definitely worth a try with their unique and brittle homemade crackers. My least favorite dish was the Chanterelle & violet artichoke tart (whisky egg yolk, goat’s curd), as I didn’t think the combination of flavors and textures were quite right.
Overall, I had a very nice time dining at Bulrush and I believe it is an incredible value as a fine dining experience and one of only two one-Michelin star restaurants in Bristol.

Went for the tasting menu and wine flight. It's pretty much what you expect at any high end Michelin star restaurant: stunning food and top tier service. Probably the first time I've enjoyed every wine pairing on a tasting menu too.

Every dish was a party in my mouth! Been wanting to go here for AGES. A 7 course fine dining experience that’ll make you feel like royalty. It’s expensive but worth saving up for. NB: They have different menus for different dietaries.
The only critique I have is three puddings is way too much in my opinion - one would have been fine 😂 but blown away by the flavours and overall experience. Thank you Bulrush.

My Gosh, what an amazing experience! We loved every single dish they served. 10/10 experience. The team members are very informative and friendly. Would definitely come back!
You need to book beforehand. I managed to get a seat D-1 before coming, so not too hard!
