Wonderful Italian restaurant. Been going here over the course of the past 20years. Beautiful food and service.
Like a hug from your favourite aunt this place always feels so familiar and reliable. Maybe because I always order the exact same thing, I can't resist those giant prawns that are always seemingly on the specials board. Portions are intimidating (perfect to take those relatives to who always complain about portion size...) and staff are very friendly. Some of those I went with said it was a touch on the salty side for them, and the prices have definitely gone up since the pandemic and endless roadworks around Temple Meads, but I personally have no complaints.
I forgot to review in the same evening. It was a weekday.
I really enjoyed every dish but my favorite was the risotto with seafood,
Everything was superb..

Brilliant food, brilliant atmosphere and and even better staff. Hands down the best and ONLY Italian that i will go to in Bristol. They made me feel welcome at arrival and throughout the whole meal.
Very friendly staff and delicious wine. Good atmosphere. Staff were very helpful and attentive to our dietary requirements. My pizza was delicious 😋🍕
My family and I had a lovely dinner here on Saturday evening - all the dishes were so tasty & the service was incredible. The staff went to an extra effort to pronounce our Indian names carefully & correctly, and to ask for our preferences in terms of spiciness for certain dishes. Highly recommend!
I was heading to see an art exhibit and was looking to get food before I went. I walked from the bus to the exhibit and found Don.G only a few minutes from the exhibit.
I arrived at 545 pm and the women at the front said she could sit me but needed the table by 730pm. I had a 7pm ticket so it was perfect.. I salt down and was pleased to see all the seafood choices they had on the menu.
The order the prawns and the mussels. The prawns were a nice size , bonus with adding tiny prawns. The dressing/ side salad of the dish really had tons of flavor and even was really a refreshing dish.
The mussels were covered in the tomato/garlic sauce and did blend very nicely with the mussels.
Over all really enjoyed the food here. 💜
I came here for valentine's day. The food was delicious and arrived very quickly. The staff were very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. The restaurant itself is beautiful on the inside! Can highly recommend the Chicken and Mushroom Risotto, Paté starter and Cannolo dessert.
Personally, the customer service experience is as important as the quality of the food. If you are like me you won’t be disappointed by the friendly and efficient team at this splendid family restaurant.
We visited Don Giovanni this evening as it was recommended by a good friend - someone who really knows a good dining experience.
My wife and I had an absolutely delicious meal; starting with beautifully cooked prawns as a sharing dish, served with fresh bread and olive oil.
For her main my wife had the seafood risotto which was served with very fresh and tasty mussels, topped by a large prawn.
The lasagne that I had was absolutely first class; full of flavour and piping hot - just as an Italian classic should be.
To finish we had the raspberry crème brûlée - a fabulous combination of flavours in a glass.
And the bill for this excellent meal was very reasonable.

food was a bit hit and miss, the positives are the steak was nice, ordered rare but it came out medium rare, peppercorn and mushroom sauce was good. pizza was ok, it's not comparable to an authentic Italian pizza in anyway, but equally isn't bad. the pastas i have to say were disappointing, we got seafood pasta and the special sausage pasta. seafood pasta was ok, both were rather large portions. sausage pasta we couldn't even eat, the sausages were super dry. Staff were nice though, polite and fast.
