Took two friends there for a mid day meal. Sad to say we were the only people there, please support your local pub !!!! No loud music so great to be able to enjoy conversation. Excellent, reasonably priced pub food, my steak and salad were very good, all prepared to order and fresh. Good , friendly service and somewhere a woman on her own could safely visit. I will certainly be back. A change from the ridiculously expensive Glos Road Cafes.

Came in for some food with friends on Sunday the roast did not disappoint would highly recommend. We were served by esme and lois it was very friendly service and we will definitely be back huge compliments to the chef! :)

I'm a student in Bristol and am trying to make my way through the pubs on Gloucester Road to find the best one. Usually i wouldn't leave a review, but i have to say the staff in the royal oak are absolutely class. A tall fella called Jake served me multiple times, had great banter and could pour a proper Guinness, which is few and far between in these parts. Will definitely be back for a game of pool with my mates

I recently moved to Bedminster but come back to Ashley Down to visit the Royal Oak. Dog-friendly and good options of beers/IPAs on draught. Great beer garden as well which has heaters so can be used in the winter as well.

Absolutely fabulous pub towards the top of Gloucester Road. Friendly welcoming staff, spotlessly clean and comfortable interior but best of all a fabulous beer garden at the rear. I came here as part of the Cask Marque pub trail and the ale did not disappoint, highly recommended 👍

Old fashioned well used city pub. On the Cask Marque Ale Trail and serving superbly kept Proper Job (St. Austell 4.5%)
Very popular locally and one of the few places I have actually met, at the same time, others on the CMAT. These two were from Wales and both had over 3,700 scans - all of London was a big blob of green. On the leaderboard both were in the top 20
At the moment (05/22) my 650+ scans makes me think I must get out more :-D
