One of the few fish and chips places with a variety of fish, not just cod! Very reasonable prices, most fish £5.50. We ordered plaice, was a little apprehensive at first as many places offer tiny portions but when it came out, it was HUGE. Well worth £8, even more so after trying it: it was delicious. It tasted very fresh. They even put the perfect amount of salt and vinegar and chucked us free tartar sauce.
They have many other food options, much more than most takeaways, including vegan options, all very affordable. They offer an OAP discounted meal and the staff are very friendly and kind. This is place is what you want when you go for a fish and chips. This and the Clocktower are my top fish and chips places in Bristol now and I only wish I tried this place much earlier. I'll definitely be coming back to try their other fish and get the plaice again.

I feel something extra beyond the taste itself.
This is not the best fish and chips I have ever eat, but the business behind probably have so much positive energy what I can feel during I consumed my haddock and chips.
Maybe an extra touch from the chef, or they look after the quality I don't know, but I can sense this additional positive energy what comes from their food.
Go there and try!
Prices reasonable, large variety.
I think the home made soup worth to try as well!

Best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Spoke to the owner and he told me there had been a fish and chip shop at the same site since the 2nd World War. I had Large Cod and chips - the fish was cooked beautifully and the batter was lovely and crispy. Very nice food, and lovely and friendly staff and owner. Highly recommended.

The best chip shop chips in BS5! The fish is always crispy and fresh. They do a £1 cone/box of chips for something quick if your on the go. They have started doing a spicy fish which sounds great and I’m eager to try it. The staff are also really friendly. It helps if you have the correct change.

Amazing fish and chips. All cooked to order so can be up to 8 - 10 wait BUT always worth it. They have veggie and vegan option too. The chips always cooked to perfection. The batter is light and tasty. The packaging us all biodegradable amd recyclable - no plastic bags here. Can't recommend highly enough. Price - end 2018 - plaice and chips £7 haddock and chips £6.50. Very fresh fish. Yum

What I love about this place is Fish and Chips is freshly cooked to order HOW IT SHOULD BE!! And they now have vegan options (Salad bar, falafels, homemade soup) recyclable packaging, decent prices & portions and even offer a cone of chips!! Family run business and they are all friendly and smiling. Brilliant local chippy for the area and best in Bristol in my opinion and I know my fish coming from a seaside town! Highly recommend!! Keep up the good work guys 👌🏽

Reading the reviews here, there are some proper gluttonous beasts complaining about portion sizes. I always have to order a half chips because they give you so much. Great service, good food.

This is a classic fish and chip shop wirh the added tweak of having salads, wraps and other fresh, healthy options available. Also, they are open until 9pm at nighf as well as lunchtimes. The couple who run the shop are friendly and will take orders over thd phone. It is conveniently located on Church Road, BS5 (St George, Redfield area) between Tesco and Aldi.

Consistently rated in top 3 fish and chip shops in Bristol for a reason, down to earth and old school, always served fresh so the petulant children of the COD generation will hate the wait, anyone with an attention span longer than a blade of grass will appreciate how this is necessary to proper food service. The smarter people out there will ignore the low scores reviews which are based more on ignorance and racism than genuine experience, foreigners exist and are serving your food, get over it and enjoy a truly remarkable traditional experience

Real nice chips and sauces. Hasn't got a great vegetarian selction but that's to be expected I suppose. The falafal is nice when fresh but a little dry at other times.
***Now does Veggie Tikka pies which are quite nice! ***
