Reserved tables for a group of 15 for leaving drinks. Manager was easy to engage with via email and, as we're all in public service, extended to us the nus/nhs discount, not that we needed it as there were good drinks offers on.
Bar was well staffed and never took very long to be served, though a couple of my group said they found the bar staff to be moody.
Food service was prompt and I heard no complaints. I was caught out though as the kitchen closes at 9.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend for a similar night out.
This was my second visit here and this time I had food. The burger I had was amazing and very tender, the chips are really chunky and perfectly done. I overheard some of the other people saying how much they were loving the chips. However, the beer here is relatively pricey compared with their other drinks, and their selection was limited, I guessed because it was a Monday night and they usually restock for a busy weekend, rather than directly afterwards.
We had a family dinner there with the kids whilst it was pretty busy. The staff were excellent and really accommodating. Great local craft beers on tap and too pub menu.
Fantastic barman. Took our son in here whilst he was a patient and recovering from an operation at Bristol children's hospital. Really friendly and helpful. Went back 2 more times because of the warm welcome
Really nice aesthetic inside and out. Good access for wheelchairs the interior is very spacious and open. There are tables outside if you want to take advantage of some sun!
We had a couple of burgers, The Buttermilk Chicken and the Big Red as a vegetarian option of which there are a few on the menu. They also have a Mushroom burger than can probably easily be made vegan. The menu doesn't mention but you will get deep fried onions on your burger that I loved but my wife really wasn't into!
The Buttermilk Burger was very dry despite the impression the name gives! The salad with our burgers was quite old, a bit brown and slimy.
For the chicken burger being a bit disappointing staff were great about offering a refund.
Really lovely lunch on our break today. Quick service and fab food would recommend and you can get 10% NHS discount if you show your ID badge
Great pub with great atmosphere. Especially with the NHS staff discount - think it's really nice thing they do
Calamari here is so yummy!! And if you have an NUS or NHS card then you can get 20% off which is fab if you're a student.
