Fabulous place. Had lunch at Bristol Loaf within Bristol Beacon. Superb choice and staff are always friendly.
Looking forward to auditorium to reopen in November. Will be wonderful first class venue.
Booked for April Jethro Tull thanks to my beautiful wife. We also are in the cafe. Mackerel it was all great
Great music and atmosphere wonderful art room. Safe environment from teenagers to pensioner all had space and time, doors our open freedom to sit outside enjoy the fresh air, relaxing atmosphere
Many a great night at this venue, wether for music or comedy performances and now getting a great makeover bringing it up to date. Bars on most levels mean not to large a queue for getting beverages. Looking forward to visiting the new cellar space for live performances.
Visiting at the "Bristol Coffee Festival" event. Spacious, well layout building. Cannot wait to visit more events in there once it is fully open.
Went to The Colston Hall to see ABC in concert. They've changed the entrance so years ago some you enter into a clean modern entrance with a cafe bar and lots of space and seating.
You then go up to your seating area and you actually go through to the original building and into the hall. It's quite small but I think it added to the chilled out atmosphere that ABC were giving off. There was an orchestra on stage with them and they played all their 1980's songs from their 1984 album along with some new songs from their new album.
Sound quality is good and there were no obstruction to spoil the view.
Go there if you can well worth it.
Oh yeah there's a rooftop bar open to the public and they hold free concerts in the foyer.
Good venue. A little confusing as to what was what to start with. Good environment show was on in a dome. My two year old granddaughter enjoyed it. She was a bit scared of some really loud music coming from a children’s rock band downstairs
Visited on Wednesday 21 June 2017 as part of Paramore's tour (with Bleached supporting).
The venue itself is easy to find and well sign-posted around Bristol city centre.
Hands up, we didn't buy drinks inside the venue so can't comment on the price of drinks. There are a number of other drinking establishments in the close vicinity and inside the venue, so worth paying a visit to one of those prior to doors-opening if the chance arises.
There were no issues taking drinks into the gig provided they weren't in bottles - door staff were busy pouring many drinks into open (plastic) glasses.
The venue had provided lots of free tap water at the bars on each level, due to the temperature inside-and-outside. It was very welcome, especially as it became extremely hot inside the venue due to no/poor air conditioning. The lack of air-flow is probably the only real 'negative' of this review - but it was an extremely hot and humid day, anyway (touching 30C), so may have been beyond the venue's control.
Staff and security were excellent, friendly and receptive at all times.
I found parking for the venue not so well sign posted - however we were aware of a multi storey car park opposite the venue and made our way there. We arrived as the venue doors were opening and, as could be expected, the car park was already busy (it's one of the main shopping car parks, too).
Useful tip: pay on arrival if arriving after 18:00, to avoid the queues to pay on exit and help with a hasty getaway (and avoiding the traffic!).
Worthy of a five-star review and somewhere worth visiting if given the chance.
