Backwell House

What a glorious afternoon we had...the most delicious afternoon tea, a cheeky bottle of prosecco and the best time with my pal. Don't eat before you go would be my advice....we didn't and still needed s *to go* box! Sandwiches, quiche, sausage roll, arancinni, scones and a lovely assortment of cakes. Window seats are best to enjoy the views but make sure you get a little cocktail in too in the bar!

Lovely boutique hotel just outside of Backwell. Rooms are well furnished and grounds are very pleasant with a lovely walled garden to walk around. Food was very good and staff are very friendly. The feel of the place is lovely, but some areas looked a little tired - but this may change and nothing to detract from a lovely stay.

We had a fabulous time at Backwell House on Sunday celebrating my Mum's 80th Birthday. Everything was amazing, the service was fab, the food was fab, it's was a perfect day. We had to make last minute changes on the Saturday & they were so accommodating & understanding. This was the second family celebration we've had at Backwell House & will definitely be back. Can't recommend it enough, you will not be disappointed. Thank you everyone for making it such a special day for my Mum xxx

All the staff and management were super attentive, friendly and accommodating, cannot recommend this hotel enough ! Rooms are beautiful, views are great, lovely quiet situation. We had to bring our baby with us on honeymoon and she loved walking round the pretty well kept gardens :) can't wait to return (hopefully next time with a babysitter LOL). Thank you so much for a lovely stay !

Such a pretty house, with the most charming and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble - delightful. The food was so fresh and fabulous quality. Tomatoes from the greenhouse in the pretty walled garden We had the Room Toogood which had a balcony. A super extra! Thoughorly enjoyed our nights stay

Delicious afternoon tea. And they'd remembered I'd asked for more savouries. Tiny scotch eggs, yummy quiche sandwiches, and still more cake than we could eat. The spare cakes were packed into a proper cake box for us to take home. So special. The rose garden is at its best right now. Lovely. And we had a table by the window looking over the valley. X

Best afternoon tea in town Afternoon tea here truly does not disappoint. All of the food was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed every last bite. Compliments to the head chef and his kitchen staff. Service was efficient and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. And felt thoroughly Covid-19 safe with numerous hand sanitiser stations, temperature checked upon arrival, all staff wearing masks at all times, all guests required to wear masks while moving around the building and tables very well-spaced out for social distancing. If you're looking for somewhere to go for afternoon tea then Backwell House is THE place to choose for the best food, service and amazing views!
