First visit, went for lunch with my daughter. Sometimes struggle in south Bristol for vegan options, not sure how I didnt know about this place sooner. My daughter had the veggie breakfast and I had sesame noodle salad. Everything was delicious, decided to have a coffee and cake afterwards as well as the cakes looked tempting. Cant wait to go again with my husband.
Absolute gem of a cafe in the heart of Totterdown. This cafe has an amazing menu that rotates based on seasonal best produce as well as a number of staples such as their outstanding breakfast.
The food is all over totally exceptional. The confit potato cakes are absolutely legendary and even if you aren’t getting the breakfast I recommend ordering a side of them.
They have some homemade sauces like their brown sauce and pineapple hot sauce, which I believe are available to purchase in bottles.
There is a small grocery selection of things like local coffee, eggs, and handmade homewares such as vases.
The walls display artwork by local artists that can be purchased. Every time I come here these have changed so they are constantly featuring new and interesting art.
An absolute must if you’re in the area. Worth a trip into totterdown if you’re staying elsewhere in Bristol.
Gets very busy on the weekends, book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Best cheese toast or in the universe. No jokes or exaggeration happening here.
Also, brunch options are amazing but haven’t tried them all because I’m addicted to one or two dishes. Mainly the cheese toaster with kimchi.
Worth the journey to get here from where ever. Just get here!!
This is our local spot for brunch, and we've been a couple of times now. This means I've been able to try a few things on the menu, and every one's been a winner! I'd particularly recommend the ricotta pancakes and the papas a lo pobre. I'm now desperate to back and try the lunch options!
Had a gorgeous kimchi rice breakfast, friend had French toast... wish I took photos. We both loved it!
Staff were very friendly and service spot on, atmosphere vibrant. We're definitely returning for more.

Fantastic experience. Breakfast was amazing, the menu looks exciting and cannot wait to return. A lovely find in a quiet Totterdown back street. Service was very friendly.
The Sundial Kitchen is a lovely little veggie restaurant based in Bristol. It offers a broad variety of breakfast and brunch options. When we went there, we had coffee and the Big Sundial Dish. It was plenty of food, lovely atmosphere and really nice service.
As part of the dish we got fried potatoes as well. Whilst they were really good, they were also a bit too oily for my taste. Would recommend it, but something to be aware of if you want to stay health conscious.
Lovely vegetarian breakfast menu. Generous portions. Great service and a lush bloody Mary to top it all off.
All the food here is brilliant - breakfast, lunch or brunch - good sized portions, fresh, tasty & full of flavour. Not a hidden gem (as so many people know it's good) but definitely well worth a visit.
