Nice pub in a great location to experience Clifton village.
We tried a variety of dishes from the menu. Presentation fantastic, detail was superb, flavours were great and it was obvious that there's pride in the offering.
Will definitely recommend and revisit.
Parking available in nearby streets and there are levels to the venue, each with their own 'micro atmosphere'.
An incredible Sunday lunch at The Royal Oak Clifton! Exceptional service from everyone working, especially from Luke who looked after us. Delicious food, good portion size to leave satisfied but not uncomfortable. Comfy high seating, fantastic atmosphere, and a clean, uncrowded environment. Highly recommended!
Absolutely banging roast!! Really good quality and good portion size - juicy meat, crispy roasties, lovely veg & thick yummy gravy. The service was a little bit hectic but would deffo come back as such incredible food & lovely staff.
The bus service was canceled and they stopped the bus in Clifton village. I was hungry and facing a 30 min walk home, So I went into this pub and it was so nice. Staff were very friendly and welcoming the food (light lunch) was top notch very tasty! Will be returning!
Good roast dinner. Nice pleasant seating area.Friendly staff. Food was good but a little pricey.Could of done with a more generous portion but overall was worth a visit.There is also an upstairs dining area and a more private room.
Came in as a part of a party of 4 for Sunday lunch. Possibly one of the best Sunday lunches I've ever had. Ordered the roast beef. Food was exceptional. Every part of it really tasty. Excellent portions, top quality produce all cooked to perfection. Couldn't fault the service either. Look forward to returning.
Very impressed - had a good feeling about the place on arrival but was not expecting just how good the whole service would be. Probably the best pub Sunday roast I’ve ever had. Very attentive and friendly staff - plenty of rooms and space for people that like sports or aren’t bothered (and just ask if you want them to turn up or down the volume). Give this place a chance and you won’t regret it!
We came over mainly to watch a football match. The table was booked in advance, we got food and a few drinks in. The place was buzzing, atmosphere inside is amazing, the staff were excellent. The food and service were top and the decor inside well thought of and in general there's not alot I could fault. They'res a good vibe about this place when you walk in, so I would definitely recommend coming down when you can. I certainly will be again!
Came in off the road after being out for the day with my partner. Absolutely spectacular food, and very warm and friendly staff. Nice vibes and chill atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back!
I was passing by the Royal Oak and noticed its reopened, as the last time I was in the area it had closed. Very nice inside and comfortable seating throughout. I only went in for a drinks and then saw the Sunday Roasts coming out, so I decided to have one. Probably one of the most enjoyable roasts I have had in Bristol, amazing flavours!
Loved this place for a drink and relaxed lunch, drinks choice was great as was the food options, we went for a ploughmans sharing board with local cheese which was more than enough for two people! The staff were very freindlly and the building was interesting and spotless, Great location of you are staying near clifton bridge.
Very relaxed, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The service was very prompt and the staff were helpful and accommodated my individual dietary needs. The food tasted delicious 😋. I would definitely recommend eating here.
Superb Sunday roast. Excellent service, nice atmosphere, food was outstanding. Only one minor comment, the cauliflower in the cauliflower cheese was undercooked and there was not enough cheese sauce (based on my preference). Advise booking for larger parties.
We had such a lovely lunch here..so good, we went back in the evening to sample more of the interesting menu and were splendidly looked after by Izzey! Thanks for a great time!
Great little bar, good selection of 241 cocktails, small menu but it's more of a bar than a restaurant, beautifully done out in an olde worldy dark snug bar.
Food was great and service was spot on.
6 of us had Sunday lunch today. 5 x beef and 1 pork. Absolutely delicious. Huge portions of quality food at a very reasonable price.
Staff could not have been more helpful. Very professional with a smile.
The Bloody Marys were also fantastic.
