The Charles Dickens Seaside Gastro Pub & Restaurant - Broadstairs - Photo album

Dropped in for drink and then decided to have an early dinner. Steak was good, pity there was no french mustard available. Wife's Plaice was a little too salty for her taste, but the Crème Brulee was a 'hit' so overall ,a nice dinner. Barmen and waitress certainly on the ball and very friendly. Also
The beef is one of the best I have tasted. Pretty view from upstairs near the window has a good view of the beach. The food is made really quickly for us so It’s nice for dinner.
Walked in and was lucky enough to get a front table with the sea view - ordered food and drinks at the bar. I had the burger, Mr the ham, egg and chips. The ham was decent ham and lots of it, 2 fried eggs and chunky chips - he enjoyed it. My burger was lovely, skin on fries and a homemade slaw. Reas
Last stop drink b4 heading back to London after a hot day on beach Very helpful staff who were happy to charge my mobile as I was in a bit of panic as our train tickets were in the app 😀 lovely girl and guy on the bar working so hard 😀 I would defo return x
A great pub on the sea front at Broadstairs. Paid a visit on a weekday lunchtime. Good choice of beers etc. Friendly staff. New bar food menu printed off every day. I tried the fish and chips lite bite version (as it was lunchtime) and it was very tasty.
Stopped in to have a brief rest from walking around the town and beach. Neutral decor but superbly clean. The service was wonderfully polite and quick despite several people needing serving. Probably the best poured pint of Guinness I've had in ages. Well worth a pit stop if your nearby and more
First visit today. Folk week has started and the staff were clearly rushed off their feet, yet all happy, smiling, friendly, and never made us feel rushed. Service was quick and efficient, the food was just wow - best roast I've had in a while, and the lemon creme brulee was beautiful - and the rest
New chef - food is amazing! We had tried the Charles Dickens twice (due to great location and views over the sea) but food was not great. We tried again when we heard there was a new chef, and the experience was a different level! We have now been 3 times. The first time we had simple fresh starters
They serve a good full English breakfast here. Nice sea view. Free newspapers. A Thanet tavern.
First time visit and I'm kicking myself... Been missing out on a quality spot in Broadstairs. Price about normal not cheap but not OTT. Location amazing. Tasty starters (calamari was probs on the ever so slightly bland side) but the tiger prawns in Nduja butter were magnificent. Very well priced and
Really tasty, feel good roast . I had the mixed roast ( beef and pork-belly). Wasn’t sat by the window but the view is amazing of the ocean . Upstairs is much quieter then the pub below which makes a great atmosphere.
Go to The Charles Dickens at least twice a week. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Food is always good and well presented. Very clean and well looked after. Has a lovely outlook over the sea. Prices are reasonable. Always recommend it to my friends.
