Mandarin Palace

What an awesome place. I lived for 28 years in Bromley and for the last 10 of it have frequented Simon's Mandarin Palace with my family. Always family special occasions. I love chinese restaurants, always looking for the best restaurants whether it be in the notoriously hit and miss Chinatown in London, or across the regions in South and East London, but this is by far and away the most consistently great food around. We always go for the starters on mass - Seaweed, ribs, spring onions, the salt and pepper chicken, pork dumplings etc etc etc. All perfect. Then the duck and pancakes / Lamb in lettuce leaves - both awesome. Then the beef in black bean, Plain Noodles, Egg fried Rice, singapore noodles and something else for main (lemon chicken / kung po / whatever you fancy) it's all great. Not greasy, not MSG'd, as good and clean a chinese as you could hope to have. I'm writing this now as I'm petrified that the Mandarin Palace never reopens. If it doesn't - what a travesty - but if you open anywhere else instead Simon, then please let us know on here, and I'll be there.

Freshly cooked and well presented food. Nice staff. The decor is a bit '70s night club', but I quite like the relative darkness (the table top was well lit though, so it's more of an *impression* of darkness!) The soft shell crab needed a little more flavour (salt? garlic? MSG?), as did the Singapore noodles, but they were still fine. Everything else was delicious.

I did not visit 2 days ago as Google implies and have not been here for over a year as wife Vegetarian and options very limited. However I used to like and found costs pretty reasonable cost for both of us came to about £35 back then including half bottle wine. I used to have mango chicken and got large portion. Probably one of the better Chinese restaurants around.

Absolutely scrumptious! I've ordered 4 times now and every time the phone service has been great. Delivery quick. Food just perfect and hot. All staff very nice so far. And the best bit is that they cater for allergies where possible. I have a severe nut & sesame allergy . The service and food has been just perfect. Keep up the good work! Thank you.

We've eaten here more than once now and they guys are always so friendly on the phone, the food arrives almost as soon as you've put the phone down and overall it's pretty good value. I have to say that the lady that delivers the food is probably the nicest person I've ever had to call to my door with a delivery. The food is fantastic and it's definitely our Chinese of choice now.
