Salisbury's Fish And Chips

Two things worth knowing about English fish and chips: there’s a fish called Skate, ugly looking flat thing with upward pointing eyes. Yet, the side flaps, called wings, are very much worth eating and served in some take aways. One of the best is Salisbury Fish & Chips where they usually keep ‘middle wing’, the most meaty part. Make sure you ask for a middle. Their oil is fresh and doesn’t soak through, even on the crisp chips. Phone ahead when it’s busy weekends. I’ll add a photo of my middle wing — I’ve eaten it here, not only because I’m a pig, but this is the only way you can see what’s inside…. Or was, before I scraped it out!

Great fish and chips. Proper chips, big chunky and how they should be, not swimming in oil. Large portion ,be careful about over ordering. Friendly service and always happy to cook your order so its piping hot on collection. Definitely a big thumbs up will not be going anywhere else now thar we found these guys. Excellent!
