Love this pub. Such a cosy atmosphere and food always tasty. Eton mess pudding let it down a little bit this time. Too much cream and not enough ice cream for a sundae like dessert for me.

When in yesterday (Sunday) without a booking, we were greeted by an old gentleman who made us feel very very welcome! He found us a table within seconds. We all ordered the Half Chicken Roast and it was amazing!!! Service was brilliant!!! I highly recommend this pub/restaurant to anyone who hasn’t been before.

Turned up without booking. Lovely cosy atmosphere and despite being very busy shown to a table in their covered outside seating area. Sheepskins rugs on chair created lovely vibe. Service was prompt and welcoming. Each of our party chose a pizza which, despite our best efforts, two had to request a box to take half home.

My husband and I attended a business meeting locally which over ran. So our host suggested lunch at this lovely pub, as her company have been there several times. It was a lovely place. The staff were very friendly and knew their menu very well which helped us choosing what to eat. The food was delicious and very reasonable price. We sat at the back which was covered and we had a lovely view of the canal with the barges coming and going.

Set in a beautiful location next to the canal, the pub was very nice inside and out, with plenty of seating and nice lighting, there was even a blanket on the back of our outside chairs for if it got a bit chily. The food was tasty, and the service was good. The only slight downside was the portion size of our main meal.

Excellent food and decent beer options, location off the beaten track but clearly well known and liked as busy but not overbearing.
Outdoor seating overlooking the canal with blankets for the cooler evenings.
Well presented and to a high standard overall. I must have been unlucky and had the only less than perfect chair with in the building.

Popped in for a refreshment. Can’t speak to the food, it looked too major on pizza and they looked nice. It’s a great view of the canal, we had walked down from lock 58. The place is busy and if not already booked for dinner I would have had the pizza.

Absolutely recommendable place. Great food, excellent drinks and cocktails, cold beer... delicious pizzas and a nice view outside the window. Cozy atmosphere, professional service and moderate prices.

Popular restaurant with lots of seating inside and out. Picturesque spot next to the canal. We ordered drinks and a pizza for lunch. The pizza was out within 5 minutes before the drinks. But it was a great quality and we both enjoyed the pineapple and maple ham.
