A busy pub chosen for a Sunday lunch for our family from Cardiff and Cambridge to meet up halfwayish. Very welcoming with our puppy in tow and we were in a marquee which was spacious and heated. The service was quick but not pushy, and all the staff were really friendly. It had an extensive menu as well as classic Sunday lunch and catered well for the gluten free member of the group. The food was delicious and huge portions, a roast lunch with all the trimmings and lovely vegetables. My only reservation was the Roast beef was a bit chewy as it was cut so thick. The dessert menu also had a good choice and all our desserts were beautifully presented and imaginative but twists on old classics. The price was also very reasonable. After lunch we were able to walk the dog along a lovely lane next to the pub before the journey home. We would definitely return here.

Delightful interior and a very warm welcome. If the scallops are on special why only serve 2? They were also quite small, seasoned and cooked nicely they left me wondering exactly how high the profit on that plate is. Pork belly cooked very well, served nicely and accompanied with well cooked tasty sides. The servers were attentive and friendly in their work but unfortunately the older lady with grey hair less so. Im definitely going to return and try more of the menu.

Lovely pub. So far we have come three times for lunch. The sadnwhiches are great! The side salad is soo good, I normally don't like the side salads from pubs but it's really tasty here. Parmesan truffle fries were amazing, very filling. We will have to try dinner one day. On the expensive side but at least you know what you pay for. Very delicious food.

First time dining here and it will not be the last. We went and had the Sunday roast pork and it was divine. They were very accommodating adapting the meal for a food intolerance, which is always relief. The tables are nicely spaced, so you don't feel like you are on top of each other. The service was friendly and welcoming.

Booked here 10 mins before we arrived as a spur of the moment date night, we had been recommended this place by a friend so thought let’s try it. Really easy to get to, plenty of parking. Cute inside with good lighting so you can actually see the food you’re eating. Waitresses were really pleasant, ordered drinks starters and mains. I asked for a recommendation and again they were helpful and happy. Focaccia for starter which I wasn’t overwhelmed with but it was nice. My partner had prawns and olives, both he enjoyed. Mains I had blade of beef which was delicious, with added chips and onion rings. The onion rings where the best onion rings I’ve ever eaten. And I fear now that no others will ever live up to these ones!! Amazing. Partner had ribeye and again really enjoyed. I would recommend this place to enjoy who would like good hearty food, done well. Nice atmosphere with cottage vibes.
