Stopped off for a pint on our travels. Nice locals pub set amongst the village streets. £4.30 for a pint! Can’t be bad 😊
Nice central location and a great place to stop off for a drink. Friendly owners and a nice little sheltered outside area. Lots of seating and popular for sport. No carpark but there is on street parking as well as 2 carparks nearby. Sits in a beautiful village.
Came here to play bingo. Ordered cheesy chips for my son. Real chips and a huge portion. Reasonably priced drinks.
Great value for money, close to steam train and local walks. Food is great pub grub and staff are more than helpful! If your looking for a decent B&B with a bit of night life from the pub in the evening then you won't be dissapointed.
Great little pub really local with friendly staff
Staff are friendly, owners were lovely. Best English breakfast I've had. Nice atmosphere in a quaint little village. Fresh food prepared and the most amazing sticky toffee pudding!
Only downside was the noise but that's to be expected as the pub is open till midnight. Other than that would definitely recommend it.
This was a one night stay. We arrived and was pleased with our check in experience. We were shown to our room and received fire instructions and how to enter rooms after the bar had closed. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. We ate in the bar for our evening meal and thus was great. A really relaxed and friendly environment. Breakfast was fantastic. Overall fir the price and location this is a hiden gem. Thanks for a an enjoyable stay
This is a brilliant inn in a lovely town near Dartmoor. Friendly, helpful staff, welcoming crowd in the bar, good, basic pub food (I had chicken & chips in a basket - really tasty). Room rate is very reasonable and full English breakfast for £10. I will be going again.
Enjoyed our stay here, (the place was taken over around 3 to 4 months ago!) Room was good, lacking a chair or two, plenty of wardrobe cupboard and drawer space, bed comphortable, bed sheets etc and towels changed twice weekly, excellent! Tv chanel were terrible on the room tv pictures constantly breaking up and picselating and mostly unwatchable except bbc? (No sky in room) one bed light inop and room light very dim and could have been brighter? Toilet and shower room was a wet room and was very clean, (one day the water came into the room from shower use, so reported it to manager, and he ended up bringing in a specialist to clear the drains down the street, and acted immediately no delay at all so he was well upto the task and problem solved! Excellent service, he also had in depth knowledge on places to visit whilst we stayed there, (two weeks) 👏 it's a good place to be central for trips to Devon and Cornwall but shops close early as its a small village, co-op shop just 70 metres away been the exception, no food served in the Globe Sunday and Monday evenings, (for now, I hope that changes) food available all other evenings 6 to 8 and good food too! Not so much on veg but plenty with chips? Sunday roast excellent, 😋 there's a chienese 70 meters down street and this is closed Mondays but Sunday night the Globe will allow you the use of the restraunt to eat it should you get a Chinese! (Locals call the restraunt the back room!)😁 all the staff friendly and helpful, and as I like and follow rugby leauge they put the game on there bar tv for us, much appreciated, 👍 Friday and Saturday can be a little noisy in the bar when your in your room but not that bad! 😀 some night the bar closes early if no patrons! Like I say it's a small village, buckfast and abby a mile away, that's another small village too! But the abby well worth a visit! It's a working abby and well maintained, not a ruin? All in all a good stay for us and would certainly stay again should the need arise
Very friendly town pub , right in the centre and dose some great pub food and has good real ales. It’s also now one of the best heritage railways in Devon, the SDR railway.
