Vanilla Sky

Our friend's recommendation was not misplaced! As vegetarians there was loads to choose from. One of us had dietary limitations and the staff took the trouble to check carefully for us. The food flavours were wonderful - we can't remember last time we had such gorgeous flavours and textures. It looks like meat eaters could enjoy themselves here too. We'll be returning sometime to try other dishes!

Looking for somewhere quiet and comfortable to have a coffee and cake in Budleigh Salterton, I came across Vanilla Sky. Basically, this is a delicatessen with a small number of tables near the big shopfront window. However, this is not a cramped corner to get extra income, it is a comfortable environment for coffee, a selection of excellent cooked dishes of the day, and cakes. The staff are very friendly, and I got better directions and suggestions for places to visit, here, than I did from the information office! This is a great place to treat yourself.

Deliciousness in every way whether you want to sit down for a coffee and a slice of 'home made' cake, a light lunch or some goodies to take away. The homity pie is fantastic ! Most of the fresh food is made on the premesis and the chef is always happy to discuss ingredients and provenance if you so wish.
