Hare And Hounds

Came for chinese on friday. Lady behind the bar came across quite abrupt trying to serve people drinks yet shout to me over their heads if we had booked or not (we had). Then told to go through to sit down in the restaurant and it was dead. The pub was quite busy & loud music playing over people talking. The young girl who served us was polite. Food was really nice could of been a little warmer though. Probably would give it another go.

I had a takeaway for the first time and it was generally good. Very odd that the BBQ spare ribs were dry and not in BBQ sauce at all, not a pleasant experience. The SnS pork balls were very dry, the meat was extremely dry and almost inedible but the chips, beef in blackbean sauce and spring rolls were great. My advice to the owner would be to order at China Red in Dunswell or look at their menu because the prices are equal but the food quality is superior at China Red. There are onion rings in the mixed starter which is an odd mix of English and oriental cuisine. There's something atypical about the rice too, maybe it's not fried?? I will order from here again but I think each dish is hit and miss so I'll try several until I find which are the best quality. Very friendly staff, very prompt pick-up. Easy parking. Many thanks 👍
