Very conveniently located for several great places. Very welcoming and helpful, we had our 2 dogs with us and that wasn't a problem at all. Food was excellent and breakfast was everything it should be. Beautiful weather and a decent sized beer garden was a good mix. Room clean & had everything we needed. Landlord was friendly and approachable. I would recommend to others

Great Stopping off point on a long motorway journey (just off M6 junc 35) - use this local friendly hotel as a stopping of point as a Sales Representative... the Kings Barns rooms are more modern than those in this great old Hotel - Beer is Good & food is great...

I stayed here for one night for work, but it is well located for visitors to the Lakes. This a great hotel in a quaint village. My room was comfortable and well equipped and great value at £55. Cooked breakfast was great! There is a good selection of hearty food on the menu - my lasagna and chocolate fondant were lovely and inexpensive. Ian who greeted me on my arrival and served my dinner and breakfast is super efficient and very friendly. Recommended!

Great place, new manager with great staff. Our Dalton room was clean with a great bathroom. Very dog friendly, great beer and food. Best of all at breakfast they ask if our dog would like a sausage. The pub does need a lick of paint but it is a real locals pub and the team of staff well coming, friendly and so hard working. They are a credit to the pub company.

Hotel is well located, close to the lakes and has a great parking, really practical. Staff is nice and friendly, food is great, really good and affordable. Hotel room is quiet, beds are comfortable but sadly it's a bit old. The decoration could use a revamp and the bathroom could be cleaner, there was some mold inside the shower that could easily be removed. Rest of the room was clean.

Lovely village, and the Kings Arms is a lovely stone building in a picturesque village, stayed 2 nights in Sept so we could do the WCR steam train experience. Food great (good home cooked food) staff superb. In fact Ian went over and above and is an absolute credit to the establishment. A definite recommendation if your visiting the area.

The Kings Arms Hotel is a brilliant pub, serving clearly freshly prepared meals. I've never stopped in the Hotel side of the Kings Arms Hotel - so I can't comment. The bar staff and food servers have always been friendly, approachable and conscious in my experience. The food I've eaten at the Kings Arms, has always been of a consistent quality. Rustic in nature, the food displays all the traits of being hand made. So far I've dined here 3 times, and I've no reason why there won't be many more visits. If you're looking for cheap and cheerful Microwaved meals (such as those served in chain pubs) then you need to look elsewhere - you won't find it here! The specials board is definitely something to ask for as it is forever changing - in my opinion, that's great.

Great Food - Great Beds - Deluxe Rooms Very Nice - Great service - and just very good stay - few things need attention Please make sure if you are booking through a site like Booking.com that you share the same rate agreement as the booking site - as when we came to pay the price was different - This is the Only pub / accommodation in the village - there are Deluxe rooms in the barn behind and they are very nice - but the rooms in the main pub are older and due for an upgrade - and perhaps the newer barn rooms just need a tiny tweek here and there We booked ours at a rate that has now been amended on the booking.com site to show the difference - and I think the managers were a little annoyed with the booking confirmation when we checked out. A few niggles - some incorrect information on the website about the menu - some wrong details on booking.com about times to check in an out - the historic building needs some more TLC and they need to get a bit more on top of things - but I have to say - asside - Lovely food !! Great Rooms in the barn - good beer - and wine ( no wine list ) easy to park - and just a very chilled place - I await the proposed re-fit - which will make the place perfect !!!!

We stayed here as our half way point from Cornwall to Scotland. The location firstly was perfect as it didn't take us off route. Then we were happy to see they had a good size secure carpark. Great place to let our dog have a little run around after a long journey. When we walked in everyone was super friendly and very helpful. We had dinner here wich was also very good. After having such a relaxed night we decided we would like to stay again on our way home. We opted for an upgraded room this time. Mainly so I could have a bath after a long couple of weeks of camping in Scotland. The room upgrade was well worth it, I couldn't of been more satisfied. Lovely hotel and lovely people. Would stay again. Thank you for everything you did for us.

Very good. Rooms are at the stage where they need a bit of investment (sockets, door handles etc getting a bit loose). Landlady runs an exceptionally tight ship however and provides five star service.

Had an amazing meal here with family. The staff were very helpful with our many questions. From beginning to end nothing was too much trouble. The food was FANTASTIC! Would highly recommend the stilton and peppercorn mushrooms and the chicken liver pate! Huge portions and left feeling very very full (in the best way) thanks so much everyone!!!

Lovely little pub in a quiet area…ample parking and a very warm welcome from the staff. The whole building from the bar to the room was very clean and tidy…the food was delicious and a very nice cooked breakfast in the morning….even the dog got a bowl of sausage and bacon 🥓🐕😀 Very happy with the service here 👌🏻
