The pub was very busy which gave it a lively ambience. There was a good selection of food which came quickly, was plentiful and hot. We were seated at Table 1 which is a little cold as it's near the door and there's constant traffic. Staff were friendly and service quick

The food was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, but a bit stretched because it was so busy. They still did very well under pressure and the food still came quite quickly. Definitely recommended.

Great food. We always get good service here. Great choice of drinks & always tip top condition. There's a very nice outdoor area with slides etc for the kids. It looks like dogs are allowed outside, not sure about inside as it's a predominantly food pub. I noticed you can order outside via an app. Haven't done this but maybe next time. I advise you to book if you're dining as it gets busy.

Called last minute due to a let down at another establishment. We needed a table for 10 and they managed to get us in.
Was a little slow at the bar when ordering drinks but it was a Friday night. We all ordered our food and it was lovely.
Was a special night due to a celebration of life of a family member so was grateful they could accommodate us. Staff were great and after being let down The albion saved the night.

We booked a table for 7pm. After placing my order at the bar, I was told there would be a 40-45 minutes wait for food.
When 50 minutes had passed, a waitress approached us and said there had been a problem with the printer, and our food was now being prepared. We were offered complimentary tea or coffee.
The food arrived just over an hour after ordering.
The food was fantastic, worth the wait.

Food was tasty and very hot . Service was excellent . On my email I explained that my boyfriend and I were celebrating 6 months together and was there any way they could bring a cake out or something with happy anniversary on to surprise my boyfriend . The young lady that dealt with this was lovely. On arrival there was a paper on the table that said " Happy Anniversary " on then after we'd had our meal the young lady brought a slate out with 2 pieces of chocolate cake on and a small tub of ice cream and the slate had " Happy Anniversary " piped on it in chocolate sauce then sprinkled with icing sugar . I spoke to the young lady after she'd served it and she was telling me that she was trying to get the timing right for us because my boyfriend had passed the bar several times on his way to the toilets and she didn't want him to see , because that would have spoilt the surprise but she timed it perfectly . I looked for her on our way out to thank her but I couldn't see her . Unfortunately I didn't get her name but if you know who she is could you please thank her on my behalf . X

The Albion has yet again proven a great place to come, relax, enjoy a pint and sample the good food from menu. Niamh is the a lovely quiz host and the rest of the staff very welcoming and friendly. Lovely relaxed evening out! Well done guys, keep it up.

5 years since my last review of it, and I had it a 3 star..Since then, the food, facilities and service has improved immensely, prices haven't however I guess that big building eats money. Would seem there has been a change of management, and it's obvious.

What a beautiful setting next to Marston's brewery, plenty of parking and beautifully lit. This was the first of our alphabet date night spots and somewhere we had never been before, and what a great place I got to say. The staff were friendly, the place was super clean, the food looked great and the price was very reasonable. This is somewhere I will definitely be coming back to and I will recommend to my friends. It does have a feel of a chain pub though and I feel it would have been busier if the quality and personality was a little more upscale. Saying that though I had a good experience. Please give me a thumbs up if you like the review 👍

I have held Charity Nights/Psychic Nights/Psychic Suppers/Vegan Events/Auctions and more at the Albion Pub upstairs in the function room and downstairs for years. The function room is more than adequate with everything you need on hand to hold these events and the staff are more than happy to accommodate any of your needs. The décor and furniture is extremely satisfactory with added coverings if needed and it is always cozy and warm with plenty of windows. The whole pub has a wonderful atmosphere and amazing staff happy assist and management that are always available. I would never choose another venue. 10/10 guys and girls 😊

We arrived for our booking a bit early & were soon shown to our table. It was quite busy at the bar but we were served our drinks without much delay. The same applied to our food which was served hot on hot plates, something that can spoil a meal if the plates are cold. We took advantage of the Thursday night Steak deal which was cooked to our requirements. At the end four empty plates said everything about the quality of the food. Thank you.

Friendly staff who are very welcoming.
Service was fast and the quality of the food & drink was good for the price.
We heard the place is under new management and after seeing some complaints about this place they've definitely made improvements.
Outdoor seating and garden is gorgeous in nice weather and the atmosphere inside is good too.

Very pleasantly surprised by the standard of food and service ? The steaks we both had where really good and tasty ! Well worth a visit ! Back in and what a change ? New staff , new menu with table service ! Had the steak n scampi with a garlic n mushroom sauce ! Lush " see pic " great offers during the week ? Can't wait to go back . Great new revamp done with a must see menu , From dinner time till five in the evening they do a " two or three course menu " very cheaply priced . NO TWO FOR ONE anymore but they have a great new menu as well as the dinner time special ! Still great food and service

Ive been going here for many years, what is was then to what it is now, is 100% better. The food the atmosphere the service i can not fault it. The staff are all on top form. Big, friendly pub with good food and drinks and a nice beer garden.
Biggest drawback for me personally (and this seems to be getting more common these days) is why do the outside speakers have to be so loud?
It's lovely to sit outside a pub for a drink with friends, but hate having to compete to get yourself heard 😕

My table was booked for 18.30. It was for my birthday meal. 6 adults 5 children. It appeared that it was short staffed. As only 1 person on the bar & was quiet busy as there was an hour wait for food. A little disappointing that our food was brought out at lengthy intervals. By the time My food arrived my daughter & grandson had eaten theirs. But apart from that the staff were very friendly even if you could tell they were run off their feet. They remained professional & customer focused. When the food arrived it was very nice. Overall I would visit again

Had to send meals back and leave today. The chicken was raw which I was then told by the waiter it wasn't their responsibility because it was ordered in by the pub already cooked by a shop. so this means it's re heated which is totally unacceptable. We ordered a special which was supposed to be grilled and wasnt. Our plates were swimming in water from the remains of a raw chicken peice (apparantly chicken). Made a complaint but received an arrogant response from the waiter. Totally unprofessional and no apology, just excuses that made the situation worse as it turns out what was advertised was false and misleading. The worst food I have ever been served and I won't be eating here again. I wouldn't consider feeding any animal what we were expected to eat!!

NEVER, EVER AGAIN! We had booked a table, but, on arriving there, we were told it was a 40 minute wait. One hour, ten minutes later, no food! When the issue was raised with the manager, he lied, bare faced, “I did say that there was, approximately, a 45 minute wait. We pointed out to him that he had said “40 minutes” and there was no ‘approximate’ mentioned, he muttered, “I’ll go and check on your order now.” Five minutes later, he returned stating it was being ‘plated up’. A further five minutes passed before the food arrived at our table. It was COLD! How long it had been sitting waiting to be brought out, heaven only knows. The manager did replace two of the meals, but both of them came back with under cooked chips this time!
Honestly, it really is not worth the hassle, especially if when you you pre-book, yet other people can just walk in, order a burger and be served within 15 minutes.
The manager looks at you as if you have absolutely no right to complain; the assistant manager appeared to notice only her fake tan and equally as fake smile, and all of this to a background accompaniment of drumming fingers from other very hungry diners!
We received a paltry 30% discount. Some concession for a dire dining experience!

My hubby took me for lunch on Monday for a treat after my hospital appointment . This was the first time we had been and we were impressed with how polite and attentive the staff were , we didn't have to wait very long for our meals . When they were brought to us they were piping hot and very tasty . Will definitely be going back at the end of the month with our two girls .

Went for a family meal yesterday food was excellent 18 of us ordered food and everyone was impressed with their meals and the service . However it was a very hot day and we were put in the conservatory right next to the windows with the sun beaming in which we did find very uncomfortable , the ceiling fan above us was out of order , but everyone did have a lovely time. We will certainly visit again but not in the conservatory on a hot day .
